According to the AJC, linebacker Josh Johnson has been released from the football team, at least for this season. Article went on to say UGA is very thin at the middle linebacker position. That could kill UGA on the defensive side of the ball.

That happened about a week ago. He just doesn't have the right attitude right now. He will spend a year at Georgia Military College. Richt has set up goals for him that he must achieve. If he does, he can come back in 2006. If he doesn't, he won't be back. This is the same route that Odell took. Josh's future is in his hands right now. It is all up to him.
We definetly aren't thin at MLB. We still have starter Tony Taylor, Jarvis Jackson who filled in at MLB during Odell's suspension last year and played light outs, and Derrick White who has started at all 3 LB positions. We will be fine with or without Josh Johnson. LB is the deepest position on our team.
It is a shame though, Josh was looking at a very bright future on the football field. He still has a chance for that but he was looking at some quality playing time this season.
