It's great to be a Florida Gator.....but especially so of late:
football: even through a down season, we beat F$U on the road for the first time since the 80s, Zook (as bad as he was) went 2-1 against Richt, we hired cf's hottest young coach, Florida was the most prolific passing team in the SEC (14th nationally) with 271.1 yards per game, while chalking up an averaged top-10 pre-season ranking for 2005-6.
SEC basketball title (first ever)
SEC Baseball title (first since 1998)
top-5 rankings in men's (and women's) swimming
#2 ranking (men's indoor and outdoor) track: 4x400-meter relay team clocked the fastest time in the world in 2005 with Gator sophomore Kerron Clement breaking the world record in the 400-meter dash (running 44.57 in the 400m. beating U.S. Olympian Michael Johnson, who set the previous record in 1995 with 44.63); also, former Gator sprinter Bernard Williams matched his personal best time in claiming the Silver Medal in the 200m at the 2004 Olympics.
top-10 finish in gymnastics
top-15 in volleyball
#3 (men's) tennis makes the semis by beating Free-shoes, while the women's team enjoys a #2 ranking (NCAA singles championship)
#6 men's golf reaches the finals
