First Round Draft Pick Marcus Spears put up a billboard on Interstate 10 in Baton Rouge thanking the community and LSU for a great experience in his four years with the Tigers.

"The people of Baton Rouge were so good to me during my four years at LSU, I just wanted to say thanks to all of those fans and to this city," Spears said. "I couldn't have gone anywhere and gotten the support that I had during the four years I spent at LSU. I have a great deal of respect for the fans of LSU and this city. This is a very special place."

Hell, if he liked Baton Rouge just imagine what he would have thought of Knoxville.

Yeah, I guess so, as long as he no longer cared about eating good food, hearing good music, or catching some fish.

Don't forget about all the voodoo, midgets, and one-legged transvestites. You gotta take the bad with the good, my friend.

That was a class act what he did to let the school and city know that he appreciated them. If all of our SEC football players appreciated what they get from the schools they play for, we'd have a lot less of this crap that we've had to talk about this off-season (i.e., drugs, fights, and other problems).

You are so right. Classy actions like this should make a real impression on up-and-coming high school and college athletes. Let's hope it spreads!
