On ESPN.com I saw Michael Munoz is going to quit football because of injuries suffered during college. Wonder what VOLS fans think about this I thought he would have been a good pro especially with him being a All-American and his dad being a Hall-of-Famer.

Too bad, the Bengals could have picked him up. He could have helped Pollack with shedding an offensive tackle who is holding him since he did it so much in college. I'm kidding.
In all seriousness, I was hoping the Falcons would get him 7th round.

Michael Munoz never became the type player that everyone hoped when he was signed. Unfortunately, major injuries hurt his development. He was never quick enough on his balky knees to handle talented speed-rushers and was more of a technique guy than a mauler on run plays. I hate to say it, but a lot of his accolades were based more on name than on performance.
He is, by all accounts, a terrific guy. He was a wonderful Vol. Dean's list, no run-ins with the law, played hard, etc. I wish he had gotten a chance, but he says that he feels like God is leading him away from football and so he is not looking for free-agent opportunities. His name, personality, and transcript will certainly land him a good job somewhere. Maybe he won't make millions, but he should be fine.

My son is a friend of Micheal, and from everything that I've heard, he's a really good guy. I truly believe that all of the injuries have effected his decision. How can anyone want to keep doing something that keeps hurting them? Best of luck to him in whatever he decides to do. As much as I love sports, I know that there are lots of more important things in life. He'll do well in whatever he attempts.

I heard yesterday that he might still come back and that he said he quit just because he was upset about not being drafted.
