Harrison Headed To SEC
By Phil Kornblut
DB Calvin Harrison (6-1185) of Richland Northeast made an unofficial visit to Kentucky over the weekend for the Wildcats' spring game, and while in Lexington he made a verbal commitment to the coaching staff. "I liked the coaching staff, they have a great coaching staff," Harrison said. "They have a nice campus. I met a lot of players and they made me feel at home. They told me they needed more speed in the secondary and they only have a few players in my position. I want to play early and I feel like I can fit in with their defensive scheme. I'm going to continue the recruiting process but as of right now I'm pretty firm with my decision. I just want to go somewhere and play football. I feel I can help them win ballgames in the future." Kentucky is the only offer for Harrison right now though he's also been drawing interest from USC, Clemson, NC State and Wake Forest. Last season Harrison had 77 tackles and 2 interceptions. He can play both corner and safety.
