Looks like Clausen is wanting that starting spot and IMO could very well beat out Ainge. Any thoughts on this.

I never could understand why so many UT fans were down on Clausen...he's looked pretty solid everytime I've seen him play...
I mean, Ainge isn't THAT MUCH better...is he?

Clausan is a caretaker type of QB. He has the head you want on any QB, but lacks in the physical tools department. He knows the offense and he distributes the ball well. This young man is going to make a fantastic coach someday, if he decides to go that route. He is a leader and Tennessee cannot get enough leaders at this point. Ainge just has more talent than Rick. Once Ainge gets to the point where he knows the offense as well as Ric, he will be the #1 guy without doubt. I'll be happy with either QB leading the Vols offensive attack.

Ainge may have more talent, but Clausen really has the heart. I really admired the way he came in and played after your other QB's were injured last season. I've also heard a lot of good things about him as a person.

Ainge is going to be a great one, but maybe not this year. His accuracy was a little off last year, and I understand he was a true freshman, But after the way Clausen played at the end of last season and with his experience and performance in the orange white game, how do you go wrong with Clausen. You could send either one of them to OM and I'd be happy. Heck we'd take Schaffer if he ever gets his head screwed on right.
Dang, I just wasted my 500th post on UT.

Aha! Clausen is beginning to exhibit that knowledge he learned at LSU. That LSU coaching will take a lad a long way.
