Yeah....one of only two wins over the Gators since 1992.....
Even usc has a better record against uga in that time (4 wins, I think).

You better come with something better than an 8 year old sound bite from the one good day UGA had against the UF-led Gators when we come calling Sept. 10th. Especially since you lost your 4 best players (and team leaders) from the team that barely beat us last year in a game we would've won if we hadn't resorted to Holtz-ball after jumpin all over you the whole first half.
Thanks for the bulletin board material though....

Yeah....and I just read that UGA will be using some wishbone this year!
So, no more questioning Meyer's offense working in the SEC, lol. If there's a team running the wishbone in the SEC, they get my vote for "least likely to succeed" in '05, lol.
What is Richt thinking????

You've no latitude to gloat about anything GN, that is until your program does more than whip up on the SEC's weaklings and lose bowl games. You conveniently have forgotten that FU was but a DG mishandled snap at your goalline away from an Old Testament beating and Richt the Merciful then settled into his 'we got it won already' shell, a thing which many of us hope to see less prevalent over the course of his career.
You also are baselessly assuming much as the SC fans are that Suburban is going to have magic in a bottle and magically make moot the dire situation of depth along your thin LOS and at RB this Fall, it would be funny if not so absolutely true. Might wanna glance over that schedule again, UT, Bama, & LSU will take a toll on that thin roster prior to your second beating in a row from the Dawgs this October.
What was Richt thinking as it concerns the wishbone? Unlike other programs, Richt divides the roster and the Coaching Staff, issues a few things he wants to see, and then allows the two squads to get after it. QB Coach & former Dawg QB Mike Bobo put in a couple of 'bone plays to mess with the D Coaches and after gaining big yardage on the first two tries, used it. When you go almost 3 deep across the OL as UGA does, you don't worry about them getting tired, you just plug another big boy in along with another RB, which we also have in very good supply.
You go ahead and enjoy all this showering of false anticipation by the so-called media gurus, fact is that the '05 gators aren't demonstrably any more loaded for bare than was the '04 squad and in critical areas such as depth and experience, even less so. I fully expect y'all to visit the ATL at best, that'd be the Peach Bowl, but more likely we'll see y'all in Nashville or Shreveport....

I doubt we will be running it that much if at all. It was mostly for the fans who have been screaming for it all offseason. Those are the same fans who screamed for 3 years to have Shockley and Greene in the same backfield. Richt actually did that in the outback bowl. We will have Ware and Brown in the same backfield though.

Gotta love Gator smack talk from an old uh-ga fan. And just like an old dawg, too.....lying around, giving off the occasional groan and a fart to stink up the room. As if you haven't been smacked down enough over the years. Time to lock you in the basement.....I'll give you some food and water in a few hours....bad dawg needs to think about what he's done and learn his place. ;)
Ok. So it's blah, blah, blah, from the Colonel. Same ol' homer record.....and what I've come to expect from your rose-colored, unabashedly tendentious, the glass-is-half-full-as-long-as-a-dawg-is-holding-it analysis. My jovial jabbing discussed the wishbone at uga's practices....not woulda, coulda, shoulda's scores, phantom TDs, and Richt's invisible offensive shell. Funny thing is, if uga was on the other end of your "near OT" pasting (isn't that like being a little bit pregnant??), we'd be readin' all about those valiant and heroic dawgs scratching and clawing until the end....the near upset as positive SECTalk fodder for next year's battle.
No one buys that pile-o-dawg crap.
As far as rosters go, I've been the one talking about it. So don't pawn me off as ignoring relevant and important issues surrounding this season for the Gators....and if you took the time to read my detailed analysis in the W/L thread, you wouldn't be lecturing me on schedule difficulty. We have certain issues....just like any other team in the SEC. You accuse me of Meyer homeritis, yet you're pinning all your season's hopes on some untested, unproven QB. Hmmm...sound familiar? ((Hey kettle, this is the pot. You're black.)) At least Meyer has done some things....even if in your ostensibly omnipotent and übersupreme uh-ga wisdom, you disagree. Point is this: you have your own roster/schedule problems and issues (e.g., losing Greene, Pollack, Gibson, etc.)....so, stop worrying about ours. You have plenty of non-Gator things to keep you and mrs. dawg up at night in 2005, but thanks for your concern. ;)
Aside from a few spots, we're a bit more loaded than last year.....and we have quite a bit more experience coming back. But after last year's very disappointing season, which followed one of your most heralded teams and pre-seasons since probably 1980-2, you should be the last one speaking about coaches and players realizing or meeting media expectations (why don't you polish off that one SEC ring you've gotten in the last 20+ years). We had a mediocre-to-poor "players" coach, who was a great recruiter but allowed the Gators to get away with way too much during his tenure, inevitably allowing us to greatly underachieve, lose the Spurrier-instilled swagger, and then have the cajuns the wonder what was wrong. Zook was a "nice guy" who never should have been a HC. What's your excuse?
Thanks. We'll see you in the Music City Bowl. I can't wait to see Meyer and Leak make Richt cry again like the little bit-h he is. ;)

Thanks, Silver. You should give the Colonel a few pointers on how to respond to posts, lol. I just wasn't sure Richt was going back to it--even as part of the offense--b/c Ware is probably going to have an Adrian Pedersen-caliber year....it would definitely be a surprise, though. No defense has worked on it since probably OU in the 70s and 80s....not that I think it would actually work on a consistent basis, though.

We probably had 7 three-and-outs in a row in the second half alone which allowed you to come back and BARELY beat us with Greene, Gibson, Brown, Pollack, and Ware. With all but Ware waving bye-bye to Athens and Spurrier's offense almost guaranteed to pick up first downs at 10x the rate of Lou's, those are exactly the type of games we won't be giving back to the undeserving. That's why Gamecock fans are so excited for the future. The days of sitting on 3 point leads in the third quarter only to give the game away in the fourth are with everything else: IN THE PAST.

He did not sum up what I think. I would rather read Gatorhead AND the Colonel than just about anybody on this board. They share excellent writing skills, keen wit, and a great knowledge of the game.
The Colonel will get into personal attacks, but some of his back-and-forths with people have made for some of the most entertaining stuff that I have read on here. Certainly, he is not the only one who gets aggressive. Gatorhead's response wasn't exactly an olive branch. Though, it was awfully funny. Gatorhead and Geaux have beaten up on each other constantly. I think that most of the time, it is in good fun. It seems to me, we should be able to do this as long as both parties are consenting. Obviously, the other night, a guy didn't take the Colonel's humor very well. That is going to happen on occassion. But, this board won't be half as funny if all of that gets cut out.

Yeah, I was gonna give him a rep but I gotta spread it around first. I may even come back to that one later. As far as the wishbone I dont see it working at all in the SEC. The defenses are too fast and the DC's for most teams are too good. It could surprise a few people though it they arent ready, like Gator said. Wake Forest runs something similar a lot of the time and they almost always pull off one big upset every year just because people dont really prepare for it since its Wake Forest. Like I said though I dont see it working in the SEC even if one of the coaches has the balls to run it. Richt is gonna have to try something new thats for sure. Reason being I dont think Shockley is even CLOSE to having the ability to read defenses that Greene has. I didnt see all of UGA's games but one thing I noticed is that Greene wasnt scared to call an audible at the line and when he did it almost always worked. Shockley isnt gonna reach that level of comfort and ability in one year. Richt is definitely gonna have to try something different but I dont think the wishbone would be a good choice.

First of all, don't talk about UGA losin' to Florida. I know they do and don't have a problem with it, but you don't need to traash talk my team. Second, UGA might lose a lot, buy never trash talk a team about winnin' every time, other wise, you'll lose for the next couple of years. Third, don't trash talk a team right before you start a new season, because if our recruits are as good as there saposed to be, not saying they are, we should beat Florida, unless it comes down to QB, then we lose.

You are so delusional, I don't know whether to laugh or feel sorry for you.
Last time I checked, Holtz's offense and USC's offense were the same back on September 11.
Ever think our defense had anything to do with any of those 3 and outs?
Guaranteed? LOL I remember hearing the same stuff 6 years ago. Nothing is guaranteed in this league my friend.
Those players may be leaving, but we have recruited guys that will just step up and keep doing the same old thing. It's called reloading. Some replacements will be household names come next season.
Btw, Ware isn't even our #1 running back. That would be Thomas Brown who was injured when we played. Our 3rd and 4th string backs still got the job done.
Hand-out? We were the better team last year. We gave you 9 points on hand outs. Our offense played like crap. Our offense and defense stepped up to the plate when it counted, yours didn't.
The last we will be getting for quite some time? More crazy delusions. Maybe we whould just give you the game since we apparently have no chance  .
I have given my honest, unbiased opinion on USC. Spurrier will have probably have some success against us. But to think he will own us like he did at UF is just laughable.

That game was just like so many others during Lou's tenure. Defense is playing great, offense is not playing great, keeps the defense on the field the entire game, and we cannot hold the lead. Congrats. to UGA for coming back winning the game, but nothing to talk trash about IMO. Probably not as many 3 and outs under a Steve Spurrier offense. He simply will not quit. Should be a good game. :)

A win is a win and our offense wasn't exactly playing great either. Our defense outplayed yours and that was the difference.
I'm not the one trash talking. That would be your delusional USC friend. I have already given an unbiased opinion of the USC-UGA game as well as your team in general. I won't repost it, but I think you have a good chance to win next season and definetly in years to come. But I do not think you will dominate us like UF did in the 90s. Its just not going to happen. I truly believe at this point that the UGA game could have a deciding factor on Carolina's entire season. If they could find a way to pull it out, knowing what a quality team UGA is, that could really give them a boost. I really think it will be close, but if Carolina were to get rocked, that could be devastating to Carolina's players.
