Bama won't fall that far but I'd be shocked if the Tide didn't take a serious hit losing guys like Shelton and Winston. But the return of Davis, Davidson and Steele leaves a solid nucleus and I'm sure Gottried's got some high-level talent coming in next year.

Although our talent level in Fayetteville is far higher than an eight seed, I must admit that I'm pretty happy that an expert like Joe Lunardi would throw us in this mix despite the horrible and pathetic way we finished the season. And that rematch of the 1994 championship game would be nice. Bring on the Dukies, they won't be better with the loss of Ewing and Miss. St. almost beat them, so bring 'em on.

I think South Carolina should've been in there. They lost a huge player in Powell, but return everyone else I think, well Gonner but he didn't have a great year last year. Is Odom going to UVA? Maybe that's why.

Winston's going pro, right? If Winston and Bass stay, the SEC West should be Murderer's Row next season. I'm gonna go ahead and say that the SEC will bounce back from a dismal performance in 2005 with a huge 2006. Our league is just stocked full of young talent.

I think, if the hogs work hard in the offseason and make some changes, we could be very lethal next year. If Brewer and Townes play like they did this year, which they will, and Modica just forgets about this season and remembers his first two year, oh, and Olu Famutimi grows some testicles in his nut sack, Arkansas could be great. If they play like they did this year, finish with the same record and probably 7-8 wins in the SEC and Heath will be a gonner. I don't think that'll happen though. For all the misery we've been through the last three years, I think next year we're going to catch some breaks and win some of these close ones and actually play up to our talent level. If we do that, we'll be much higher than an 8 seed.

According to Superprep.com we could be getting some extra talent next year....We've already signed a adequate power forward in Cyrus McGowan to back-up Townes. We also signed a white point guard from New Jersey named Sean McGurdy....he went to St. Anthony's where he was coached by Bobby Hurley Sr. and they say he is not extremely athletically gifted but can shoot the three and manage a game...much like Bobby Hurley Jr. they also say he is a excellent defender. We have one more scholarship available and it has been offered to the number 1 high school player in the country...Greg Oden (might be a Jr.)...also to Brandon Rush (Kareem and JaRon's bro) and Armon Bassett (point guard from Terre Haute, IN)......we need a good point guard badly. We tried to get Jannero Pargo's brother...he's a good point guard from Chicago...he chose Gonzaga over us.

Brandon Rush needs to be our man, apparently we're in his final three choices.

I dont see how that guy has UNC as a number 2 seed next year. They are losing like 6-8 players from this years championship team, many of whom are going for the draft. Duke on the other hand could easily be a number 1 seed, especially if Williams returns, which he probably will. They will also have Reddick back and appear to be heading towards the best recruiting class in the country, along with the best player. I think SC should've been in there too because like you said the only big time player we're losing is Powell. I guess its because of the Odom situation being up in the air. I think he got the SEC pretty much right though with the exception if SC. 5 teams sounds about right with a possible 6th sneaking in.

From all indications Sheldon Williams is coming back. I read somewhere that school is much more important to Williams than the NBA.

Yeah, Williams is a smart guy, I'm not sure that he's even considering the NBA this year. Duke will be great next year, no question. I guess Lunardi is giving UNC the benefit of the doubt, but they'll still return Sean May I know. McCants or Felton is already going, I can't remember. Probably McCants. I doubt Marvin Williams will. They all could though, the only one i know for sure is coming back is May. If they just loose two players off this team (i.e. McCants and jawad Williams) they'll still be awesome.

I think USC was held out b/c of their coaching situation, otherwise he'd be a fool not to include them. Did he have Vandy (I don't feel like looking). I think they could possibly be the 6th team. If Bass stays LSU is going to badass, but his stock will never be higher than it is now. Winston and Shelton's departure will really hurt Bama, but they've got good players, a good coach and apparently have good recruits coming in, so they'll be solid. I just hope the damn Hogs can play up to their talent level for the first time in about 5 years.

When is he going to put out his first look bracket for the 2012 Tournament? What a dork.

There is absolutely no chance Bass will stay around for next year....After the last half of the season he had and the SEC player of the year award...no way. His stock has never been higher and he put his name in the draft pool last year before deciding at the last minute to not hire an agent and stay.....he's gone, at least if he's smart he's gone.
