doesn't he get in trouble alotIf you count twice, 14 and 13 years ago respectively, as "alot", then yes. Otherwise, it's his past and he's moved on.

Beat up his wife and assaulted another individual on separate occasions.

He beat up his wife on a regular basis and then headbutted a guy at a bar if I'm not mistaken. He has a SERIOUS anger management problem.

He was found guilty of assault and battery for the latter.

What exactly did he do???He was never convicted of having done anything as far as I know. I've seen it published both ways though. I tried to do a little research and find some public records, but was unsuccessful. Apparently though, beat up his girlfriend on one occasion and got into a bar fight on another occasion. Charges in the bar-fight incident were dropped. My understanding is that no charges were filed in the other incident, but a restraining order was issued against him and later dropped after he attended a domestic violence workshop/class. The woman in the first incident is not his wife. He has been married to his wife Kelly, with no such recurrance, for 10 years now.

He admits his mistakes and has apologized for them repeatedly. He claims to be a changed man and so far, everyone that knows him and has commented on the situation has supported that claim. Are you of the belief that people are incapable of changing?

Certain ones...yes.

Can a child molester be rehabilitated? What about a murderer? I do not condone wimps that beat up on women. It doesn't matter if it was his GF or wife. Only a gutless turd would hit a woman.

I just find it ironic that here we are bashing student-athletes that break the law when a HC in the SEC is a felon.

"On May 8, 1991, a woman in Florida's Dade County was granted a permanent injunction of protection against repeat violence from Orgeron. Orgeron was prohibited from having any contact, direct or indirect, from her. Orgeron was also "restrained and enjoined from committing any act of domestic violence, to wit: assault, battery, or sexual battery" against her. In addition, Orgeron was ordered to complete a 26-week program on domestic violence and on July 20, 1992, the restraining order was terminated.

In 1992, Orgeron was arrested after a fight with the bar manager of a Baton Rouge, La., establishment. The police report said Orgeron was "highly intoxicated," and Orgeron was charged with second-degree battery, failure to leave the premises and misrepresentation during booking. At the request of the bar manager, all of the charges were eventually dropped. However, Miami placed Orgeron on athletic department probation and, after a three-month leave of absence, he resigned on July 15, 1992."

I don't know about a child molester, because that type of action seemingly takes planning, premeditation and the will to avoid detection. I think that making a mistake in the heat of an argument is something different though, but it's certainly no excuse. There's no excuse in my book for hitting a woman.

Orgeron's been clean for going on 15 years. He's made the changes in his life that he needed to make to get and keep himself out of trouble. I believe that people can and do change. I hope that Orgeron's one of those who has.

So let's see...

1. Battery
2. Criminal Trespassing
3. Criminal Misrepresentation (Failed to have/show ID or gave a false name to the police)

If that were me or anyone else, we would have gotten at least 2000.00 fine and three (3) years probation. The 30-Day jail sentence would probably be waived.

I wonder if those charges were dropped because of who he was???

Felon? Where are you getting that information from?

I'm just commenting on the situation. It's a figure of speech. Granted, he wasn't convicted, but that doesn't stop you from saying it.

It's like when someone steals your car, you say "they" stole it. It's just a figure of speech.

Notice I never used the term; "Convicted Felon".

Probably not a household name, but when you're coaching for a National Championship program, boosters, supporters and alumni can all make things happen for you...

Must be a South Carolina thing. I call pretty much any soda a "Coke", but I don't typically generalize folks as felons.

I'm a part-time licensed Bail Enforcement Officer.

For my main job, I work as a freelance security evaluator. I go to sites and give them a security assessment.

I have only been shot at once.....Thank God!

I'm also licensed to carry a firearm and 95% of the time, I do. Most of the time, once the guy sees the working end of my Glock, there isn't any trouble.

Sweet. The 31 is a nice piece. I carry a Glock 22 myself. Well, I guess we're pretty off-topic here. Thanks for keeping this conversation civil. No hard feelings about the other day.

Well...

This one happened about three (3) months ago. I'm not going to give his name because of privacy issues, but he was arrested on grand theft auto.

Well, my little birds were telling me and my partners that he was hiding in an apartment complex not that far from where I live. To make a long story short, he didn't try to run at all. He simply handcuffed himself to his toliet thinking that we wouldn't be able to get him loose and re-arrest him.

We just got some boltcutters and cut the chain on the cuffs. Sad to say, he started banging his head on the side of the van while we were searching him.
