Clarke Moore, LB, got arrested the other night. The guy was driving to Farmington in the middle of the road and got a DWI. Nutt has said he might lose his scholarship.

uh-oh looks like USC isnt the only school with problems now...

It's like I was saying, every school has trash that needs to be taken out.
I'm going to wait and see what Coach Nutt does before I state my opinion.

At least this guy didn't pull a gun on anyone! Of course, driving drunk down the middle of the road just might be worse....
Man, I'm sick of hearing about all of these idiots just throwing away their scholarships. Makes me want to take away all of those scholarships given out every year and just give them to needy families whose children actually WANT to go to college and make something of themselves.

Well, I joked about it a while back that we need to make a counter and see how long we can make it without a police report filed on an SEC athlete. I dont think there have been too many weeks in a row this year, if any, that an SEC athlete hasn't been arreseted.

Sorry if that's what you tought I implied. I can't remember which team it was.... just sometime during the past ~1 year, I remember a team having a player who committed armed robbery. I was thinking it was an SEC team, but maybe I'm mistaken.

I guess we could joke about it and change our name to SouthEastern Criminals (SEC). :p

I'll buy that. Since moving up here in January, I've heard a lot of people say how rampant the drugs are here and across the Missouri line.

Arkansas, just like every other school (not just the SEC), has its share of atheletes arrested....while it is true that we hold these players to a higher level of responsibility than the average "non-athelete" student because they are getting a free ride, but we have to remember that:
1. they are still just college kids that don't always think before they do things.
2. some of these kids come from sketchy backgrounds where if getting a DUI or a pot charge was the worst thing you ever did----you were the good kid.
Arkansas has had a lot of DUI's...more than any other charge and a few pot charges....but remember: this is the stuff that college kids do. Fayetteville is a small town (relatively) and the cops love to give DUI's....trust me, I know firsthand. I believe that Nutt said that Moore might lose his scholarship...in the past two years Nutt has gotten real tough on these guys that get arrested...I can't remember his name but the year before last a LB/S from Virginia who played a lot got a DUI right before the last game of his senior season and Nutt didn't let him play in the bowl game or the Senior Day game; although he did let Talley play against Oklahoma in the Cotton Bowl after he beat Lawrence Coker senseless outside a bar. Go Figure.

jbuzbee,
Coming from Tuscaloosa, I understand about the drinking being a big part of the college experience. I went to my share of the football parties my freshman year, and can tell you that those guys can put it down with the best of 'em. But I do NOT agree with driving under the influence. I don't have a problem with people who have a beer or two, wait a bit, and drive. But the .08 legal BAC limit is there for a reason.... When you get behind the wheel, even if just driving 2 blocks to your apartment, you're endangering the lives of yourself, everyone in your car, and anyone within about 50 feet of your car on the road. Some people say things like "Well I'm always careful if I've been drinking when I get in my car." But that doesn't hold up.... no matter how careful you are, your judgement/reaction-timing are not up to par after drinking several drinks.
I'm not saying I've never been guilty of it, but I can say that I would NOT do it now.

That's my point, everyone's done it...doesn't make it right but sometimes 18-22 year olds don't always have the best foresight.
