Alabama vs. Kentucky is the safe bet for the tourney championship. After all, those are the two best teams in the conference.

As for Auburn being the sleeper, there's just not a chance. They could beat Vandy b/c both teams rely almost completely on the triple, and whichever one shoots it better will probably win. I'd be really surprised if Vandy lost. Even if they did get by Vandy, you guys think they're going to beat LSU? Come on!!! How's a team with nobody over 6'5 going to stop Brandon Bass and Glen Davis. Bass is the best big man, and probably player in the entire league. He's 20. Davis is a load. Auburn would have to be unconcious from three-land to even be in the game with the Tigers.

If you're looking for a 1st round upset, try Tennessee over Arkansas or Ole Miss over South Carolina.

LSU could make a deep run too. I like UK, Bama, Fla, and LSU. If Miss. St. gets Frazier and Power playing at their highest levels the Bulldogs could challenge as well.

But Auburn as the sleeper is just funny. That's like saying Georgia's the sleeper.

I like your thinking here man. This match-up is very, very possible.

I think Kentucky beat Bama in the final and the sleeper is either USC or Florida....don't really know if you can call Florida a sleeper but i think they will do well in the Tourney :D

I think Florida has a great chance to make a run in this years tourney. But they're no sleeper. The Gators are one the best teams in the conference, so of course they have a chance. I'll also tell you this: USC or Arkansas will be gone after the first round. Since USC just beat Ole Miss in OT, I'm going to go with USC taking an early exit, but Arkansas could very easily do the same.

i think USC will beat Ole Miss again....although its gonna be hard without homecourt advantage

I don't. Ole Miss will D USC up. It should be a good one though, probably the best game in the first-round.

Yeah...there is no way Auburn beats LSU. We'd have to shoot 90%. The last two times Auburn played LSU they got killed. The last time it was close at halftime, but they blew us away in the second half with their size inside.

[B][I]U know what....the Hogs stink this year !!!! Stan Heath just dont cut the mustard in my opinion. I hope that Frank Broyles can see that Heath needs to go!!!!

This has been a disappointing season man, you're right. We've lost five of our last six. That's pathetic. Six SEC wins just sucks too. That's horrible. Stan Heath is 14-34 in the SEC in 3 years. Now the first year he had nothing and won 4 games. He's got a lot this year and he's won six. I hate to say it, but b/c he's black he gets another year, but if we're not in contention for the Western Division crown and a lock for the Tourney next year, he's gone for sure.

Heath can recruit and he's proven that, but that's all he's proven. We've lost close games to Illinois (11 but much closer than score says), Kentucky (1), Alabama (by 3 and by 9 [but much closer than score says]), Miss St. (2), LSU (by 3 after they took the game-winning 3 away from us). But horrible losses against teams like South Carolina, Auburn and Vandy just won't cut it.

I'm willing to give Heath one more year simply b/c of the recruiting classes he's brought in (top 5 last two years). But he doesn't win next year with this group, I say "off with his head". Let's get Nolan back. Heath just can't strike the fear of god in these guys like Nolan could.

His coaching is very questionable. We've had ridiculous scoring droughts in many of the above losses, including over 12 minutes to Auburn. That's pathetic and that's coaching in my opinion. Now our players were lifeless, gutless and heartless at Auburn saturday but damn man, call a TO, draw up a friggin play and get a point. Go to the damn hole and get fouled. That's horrible and the severe scoring droughts have really soured me on Heath. I think there will be changes on his staff this season, and he's outty 5000 if he doesn't get 20 and a big dance appearence next year.

Let's just hope we win our first SEC tourney game in three years tomorrow. God, we used to be a lock to get into the semi's or final game, but now we'll be happy with a 1st round win. Pathetic.

You're right about that man :D If Auburn plays like this against LSU tomorrow, they'll beat them too. But I'm afraid they're shootin their wad tonight. This game is very similar to the last one.

Doing it one day is one thing, doing for two days is another. I knew this one would be a three-point bonanza. Vandy's missed theirs and Auburn hasn't. But If they can do this against LSU tomorrow they'll have a good chance. I'm just not convinced they have the talent to do that. But they do have a lot of seniors and when they're hitting the triple, they are tough.

Words of wisdom: You live by the three....you die by the three.

I turned it off, I'm watching Rocky. It looks Vandy's shut the gap a little bit and there's still some time. Uh oh, Quinnel Brown just fouled out, their tallest player (6'5). That's not good. If vandy can get it to 6 with four minutes I think they'll pull it out. Pretty impressive come back anyway. They didn't lay down and die like Arkansas.

Just saw that Alabama took out Ole Miss. Congrats Alabama......Probably good we got screwed in that Ole Miss game so we didn't have to play Bama. They would have either clobbered us, or we would have taken a lead only to let Bama come back and swipe it away from us (as we've done in almost all of our games against top level opponents this year).

My homerism tells me to pick a Fla - LSU final with LSU coming out on top.

However.....

When I removed my rose colored glasses, I had to go with a: KY Jellies - Magenta Pachyderms final with the jellies pulling out the win.

As hot as FLA is I still see an ALA-LSU final in our near future. All west All day! And by the way, thank god it was ole' miss getting shamed out there and not my prescious, yet woefull, gamecocks!

Pure Petty you soft headed .... do you really think the Tuskaloosers have what it takes to beat the mighty Gators. What we are looking at is an all Eastern Final, The mighty Gators against the God-like Wildcats. This is not just a matter of opinion, this is fact.

Okay, PigSpurt, step away from the crack pipe and slowly drop to the ground... we have you surrounded! First of all the "god like wildkitties can't even beat the shamecocks at the "crown-jewel" of the southland. And up at the "sacred" rupp they only won by 4... how many did Bama "roll" over Odom's scrubs by... I think it was 19... nice try.........!

Many Mighty Foes have been decimated after a trip to the "Capital of the Southland" It would of been a whole different ballgame if the tide had come to the Crown Jewel, they would of been bedazzled. They would of played with stars in thier eyes and high times on thier mind, and would not been able to handle the big lights of Columbia.
