Guys,

I saw in the Dem-Gaz. today that Max Emfinger, a recruiting expert, said Arkansas' 2005 class "will be in the top 20".

That's good news for us, I really never expected it to be that high. Apparently, we've gotten committs from a Tulsa RB and Georgia DE that have really helped. Looks like those Central boys are headed to Fayetteville as well.

If we would've gotten that Roy Upchurch guy (committed to Bama), our class would've recieved a huge boost.

I'm an ESPN insider, and Tom Lemming's top 25 didn't include the Hogs. That's no big deal though. Emfinger does this 24-7 365 days a week, so he should know what he's talking about. Regardless, looks like Nutt's signed two pretty good classes the last two years and they should formulate into some successful seasons in a year or two or three. Go Hogs.

Thanks for that info Del!!

I'm impressed. I wasn't expecting this much from HDN this year after a 5-6 bowless season. Spurrier really did a job getting you guys that high with that little time. USC is gonna be tough, tough, tough for years to come now. That's a program that's on the rise for sure, in everything.

Hey, you gonna listen to the Ark @ USC game tonight. I know you're more of a football guy, but I thought you'd still be interested. This is a huge game for both teams.

Yep..

I am more of a football guy, but when it's a big game I'll watch/listen to it.:)

It sucks it's not on the tube. I hate that. I mean, does anybody really want to watch UT and Vandy tonight. I don't. Anyway, I'll be listening though. USC scares the hell out of me, so I'm not expecting much. I was hoping Gonner and Tisby would be suspended, but they're not. Looks like we'll have to win it fair and square, and that's probably not gonna happen.

Well Felix Jones faxed over his LoI which was a huge boost. 4 star RB listed as athlete and had great numbers his senior season. Also throw 5 star McFadden in the mix and our RB's are looking pretty good right now for next season. On the defensive side of the ball, Marcus Shavers was the huge pickup as well as Kevin Thorton. Overall a nice recruiting season.

Those four guys that you just mentioned right there will help immediately!! Especially Shavers, Thorton and McFadden. I'm excited. We've had back-to-back top 25 classes, so I'm hoping they'll formulate like those great classes of Cobbs, Hamlin, Miller, Bua, ect... and Jones, Andrews, Carroll, etc... did. We should have some success in the future.

I am just glad that our defense is looking alot better for next year. Herring came in and in short time signed two studs on defense in Shavers and Thornton. Shavers was a huge pickup and I am glad that we have a guy like Herring running the show on the defensive side of the ball. Our RB squad is gonna be awesome next year. Remains to be seen what happens at QB. Casey Dick was signed and from what I have read and heard...he was a good pickup as well. Cole Barthel is on campus now and will be going out for QB next year also.

Right, I'm anxious to see what happens at QB too. MJ will be hard, if not impossible, to replace. But you're right. The D is looking much, much better. Shavers and Thorton will probably start, that's what I'm thinking. I'm still not convinced that we met our needs at the LB spot, but we'll have to see. Overall though, I think Nutt did a great job coming off of a 5-6 season and we should definitely have some success here pretty soon. I'm not sure it will be next year though.
