Finebaum is a jerk anyhow. I've never had much of a respect for his opinion on any sports topic.

All in all though, not a bad assessment; someone has to come in last.

It is rather humorous that Kentucky & Vandy finished above this guy though. :D

I guess this is where I jump in and ask how everyone here would rank the coaches. I'll go first

1.Steve Spurrier-One of the greates college coaches ever. It was a struggle to name a #1, but Spurrier has the record, the national championship, and the best offensive mind in the conference. The only thing that you could mark down as question mark is his disdain for recruiting

2.Phil Fulmer-The homer in me wanted to put CPF #1 and I was rationlizing as to why he is better than the ole ball coach. When you look at the two records, you have to mark Phil slightly behind. He also has the record, national championship, and is the longest tenured coach in the SEC. A fantastic recruiter, Fulmer stands like a beacon on a the hill.

3.Marc Richt-Simply, the best program in the SEC over the last four years. CMR will get to prove himself this year as replacing leaders and star talent is quite a job. The bulldogs under his lead closed off a lot of the state of Georgia concering recruiting and this year they have made a splash by signing high profile out of state kids.

4.Tommy Tuberville-This might seem a little low coming of an udefeated season and plenty of years of solid teams. Tommy fall in the line of player's coach and things could not be much brighter in southern Alabama. Like Richt, he must prove that he can replace a good amount of star players and leaders and keep the Auburn train rolling.

5.Less Miles/Urban Meyer/Mike Shula-All have a lot to prove as coaches. Two of these guys come into the SEC with impressive backgrounds. Now, they get to see if they are SEC caliber. The third on this list is recoverng from Scholly limits and few will how could of a coach he is, until they get the roster back up to the regualer level.

Houston Nutt has always been a media favorite. He wins with lesser players seems to be the company line. There is no doubting what he has done in Razorback land. The only question is can he bring them back up after the big payday he received last year.

Bobby Johnson/Slyvestor Croom-Both of these coaches work for programs that have had a hard time with winning. Croom took over a near death program in MSU and Johnson has the long line of Vandy losing to deal with. It is hard to judge these men as coaches, because first they must find good enough players to compete in the SEC

Ed Oregon-I know nothing about this guy, but the good new is he is still better than Rich Brooks up in Kentucky :D
