At 5:30, he says he will go public with his decision. Predictions?
I say he will go pro. He has accomplished everything at the college level.
Undeafeted season. Won the Heisman. Won a NC.
What else is there??

It Seems Like A Very Easy Choice To Me! I Usually Would'nt Encourage Kids To Go Pro Early But His Decision Seems Different For Some Reason. Goog Luck In The Pros Kid!

I usually think they should stay as well...but he is ready....
Now if he played for UT, I would be begging him to stay.
I think he's staying. He has stated sooo many times he does NOT want to go to the San Francisco 49ers. Guess who has the first pick??? heh

I also think he stays. His family is well off, aren't they? I don't think he's got a desperate need for the money, and he seems like the type that enjoys being BMOC.
So we have:
2 Stays: DeLoreanfan1, Gopig
2 Pros: Troxel, Grasshopper

I think San Fran will trade the 1st pick to get some players that won't demand the money someone like Leinart would. He could end up at Miami.
That's a possibilty, but SF really needs a QB bad! Rattay isn't getting it done.:)

True. San Fran needs alot right now.
<~~ Cries everytime I see a SF game on TV. I only cheer for the Panthers because they're local. I bleed scarlet and gold. :(

I want to say the opposite of whatever troxel says (HA!), but, alas, he's gonna take the money and run. If Eli could get out of going to the Chargers, ML can do it too.

Leinart has officially announced that he will be returning to USC for '05. Here's the article: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=1964834

S'ok....but now I want a SEC team--ANY SEC team--(or any team for that matter) to spank 'em in '05. I'm gonna be the biggest fan of any team that's playing against them next year. This Leinhart/Bush BS has got to stop....

Well I wish Arkansas could do it for you, but it's not gonna happen :) That early in the season, it's gonna be ugly for us.
(((Jumping up and down)))
I got it! :)

Good for him. Despite all the money the NFL could give you, you can't get that last year of college football back. If you like being in college and you like to play college football, stay in school. If you need the money or you want to move on, then you should go ahead and try the NFL. College isn't for everybody.
He risks injury by coming back to SC, but it might not have been such a bad idea to bypass the NFL. Unlike most years, there seems to be a surplus of QBs in the NFL. There are many good QBs (many of them former starters) that are #2 on the depth chart on about a dozen NFL teams. Leinart was not guaranteed to start--or even play--if he came out and the 49ers drafted him. Even worse, a former second stringer like Kurt Warner or Tommy Maddox could end up with the 49ers, making it tougher for Leinart to become the starter. Maybe next year a team will be in need of a quarterback and Leinart will have an easier time winning the starting job.
