"There are 10 prospects that UT is recruiting in Saturday's game. Jonathan Crompton's dad, David, likes UT's chances.
'
"He's got a lot of kids calling him, asking him questions," David Crompton said. "I'll just say this. When they start putting their hats on (announcing their chosen school during the game), all of us Volunteer fans are going to be happy.

"I think we're going to get some guys down there (in San Antonio) that really want to play at the University of Tennessee. We have a heckuva class going."

Crompton's dedication to UT will be readily apparent as he tries to sway prospects at the game.

Oh yeah baby!

My uncle went and saw Crompton play in N. Carolina and said that the kid is awesome to watch....he said that he can stand flat footed and chunk it 40-50 yards with no problem and deadly accuracy. I also read an interiview by Heath Shuler, who has been working with Crompton since his H.S. season ended, and he said that UT is about to get the best QB they have probably ever seen. Good enough that he may put Ainge and Clausen on the bench.....with that kind of talent, he will very likely sway many players to U.T. Man, I cant wait for next season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yea guys, next year will be most definitely GREAT!!! No matter who starts we are loaded in the QB position. I've heard a lot about Crompton and am looking forward to seeing him play. If we could get Patrick Turner he would be a nice addition to our WRs. Last heard that his decision was down to UT and USC(cal). I'm looking forward to hearing where he goes. Like I said before, I can see a run for the NC next year. What do you guys think?

Hey, it's better to be optimistic. You might be right especially with the respect problems we've gotten from the voters.

These AP writers are a bunch of pin-headed scumrags. Am I an Auburn fan? Nope..but I think they deserved a shot that the MNC. This is the second time in a row that Oklahoma has embarrassed themselves in the big game.

I agree and I'm sure you noticed that Oklahoma was STILL #3 even after a loss like that. I read something that said they were still 3rd due to the way the played during the season, but the way I see it, if you play great during the season you should be able to play great in the post season. So there's know way Oklahoma deserves to be up there. That really made me mad.

What is the point of having a bunch of journalists, many of whom have never stepped foot on a football field, attempt to rank 25 teams, after watching maybe 5 of them play in any given week. Theyll see a game like Auburn-UT, notice the final score, and think, 'hey, UT blows, lets drop them way down'. To a degree, UT dropping after the Auburn drubbing was certainly justified, but if they actually SAW the game, they realized that the score was not indicative of the game completely, and that a host of turnovers, many of which were due to freakish tips, etc, caused the score to be so lopsided. Plus, they have some extremely inconsistent standards, that cause them to show their bias. For example, Cal barely loses to So Cal, and STAYS IN THE SAME SPOT. Ok, fair enough, that was the number one team in the country.
Yet, other teams, particularly in the south, will get dropped by several spots no matter how well they play against a highly rated team (see UF after the UT loss this year). All of this, in my opinion, is due to ignorance and sheer bias of sportswriters, many of whom, became writers because they really could find a real job, or do anything significant with their lives. Their are many quality people in journalism, but, that field does hold the possiblity open for people who cannot contribute anything to society to come in and explain how the ones who are contributing, are doing so. Auburn not getting the respect they deserved was not only a slam against them, but against all of our teams who compete in the SEC.
That being said, as it relates to my VOLS, if they are fortunate enough to make a run, I think theyll be rightfully rewarded because I predict a pretty high preseason ranking for UT.

On Edit: The above mentioned reference to the UT-AU game, in no way is meant to take away from Auburn's well earned and dominant performance this past year in Neyland.

I think UT has a great run at the National Championship next year. The only problem is that UGA has the same chances. They are also putting together a team that leaves me disgusted. I really think Cox will give Shockley a run for the starting job.
If this kid Crompton is as good as yall say he is then he will be fun to watch. Not in Williams-Brice Stadium though. lol
I have noticed that Tenn's offense is built around the QB. When they lost both of em last year the offense struggled. I don't think it was because of lack of talent in other positions, it's just Fulmer Football to have them work as a team. As long as they are able to keep one healthy then they will be a threat to anyone on anyday.

I believe it will help whatever SEC Team challenges for the National Title. USC was the hard luck victim two season ago and Auburn was this past one. There is no way that the SEC is going to get the shaft two years running. BCS officials might have to move out of the country if they were to pull this stunt again. If all records are equal when deciding who will play for the National Championship, the SEC will be in that game. You can take it to the bank.

If a SEC team makes the NC game, then that school should send thanks to the Auburn Tigers. The Tigers took one for next year's competitor for the NC game.

You are absoulutely right...I am thinking the same thing. USC did gripe a little about not being BCS champs. Look at them now. Walking on some cake.
If a SEC team manages the best record or tied for one ..then they are definitely going to get a chance to walk on some cake too.
