OK guys and gals.....lets get some predictions going here. Since AST is down we need to get this going. Is the game televised? I haven't seen anything about it. I figure it must be on ppv if anything. Gonner has got to continue to shoot the ball well to have a shot. Let's hear it..........

I don't keep up with Basketball that much so I can't give an honest opinion. Don't get me wrong, I like watching NCAA Basketball, I just don't follow it like Football.

So, by saying that. I'm just going to say GO COCKS! :D

Game is not televised here in SC...
USC will keep it close - can't really see the score being over 70 points for either team...

As a basketball-first, football-second guy, my opinion is that we definitely have a good chance in this one....PROVIDED WE CAN HANDLE LSU'S MUSCLE UNDER THE BOARDS.

I think LSU will try to attack us early and often under the boards....and then when things open up outside they will use Minor and co. to try to nail the 3's.

We could be in trouble if they do this and get the crowd behind them.

More than likely, we will play it close (as we always do).....but find a way to lose in the end (as we SEEM to always do! ) . If we are shooting well....and Gonner is on his game.....we'll stand a better chance.

No TV. Sucks, doesn't it? To think I remember the days when EVERY USC hoop game was televised. Come back, Joe Petty!

That does suck. Its not even on ESPN's full court package. And seeing as how I live in the middle of ACC country I probably wont even be able to find it on the radio. At least they should have updates at the bottom of the screen during the UNC/GT game. That one should be good. I'll try to get back to this thread during halftime and post the score. I say SC wins by about 5.

Not looking good.

LSU up 39-29 at the half.

We just are so lacking in talent, that if we even have one off night, we're dead. Apparently, we can't hit anything.......

Not a good sign when you go on the road and fold against mediocre competition.

Dave....you're gonna have to recruit, m' man. It's the name of the game these days.

Time to face facts, folks. Odom just isn't getting it done. Not if we want to get better.

Close losses to top teams mean NOTHING....as we are seeing tonight. LSU is blowing us away right now, 69-50....and LSU isn't even one of the better teams in the SEC.

This a pathetic showing......And with this loss, go ahead and write off any shot at the NCAAs this year. It's over.

Odom is a fine man and a quality human being. But I do not believe he is the guy to get us to the Sweet 16 or beyond. Not gonna happen.

How many more seasons will we stick with this, before a coaching change becomes probable?

Oh....and so much for that wonderful Canada tour in pre-season. We beat the Canadian national champs by 40?? Geeeezzz....Canadian basketball must be HORRIBLE!!

I'm with you Galactus, I say let him finish this year and if we do anything short of going to the NIT final, I say time for a change...., just look at Clemtech, what a difference Purnell has made for them in only his second year....

lord that was so damn painful to even listen to. Thankfully that was not televised. I might have smashed my tv in that case. Did you guys here our radio station play LSU's fight song with about 5 mins left??????? It was hilarious, our guys were cussing in the background trying to cut it off......thats probably the only thing to smile about tonight..... I finally give in and agree......its Odem....and its time

What really is sad is I tried to find out the score on ESPNEWS and ESPN2's ticker and it's like we never played...but they got all the scores like TCU and Quinnipac????

I tell you who needs to coach this team....Frank Haith, check him out at Miami, they beat UVa last night and beat NC State last weekend (first year in ACC)

Frank was an assistant at Wake with Odom, then went to help out Barnes (former Clemson coach) at Texas (made it to asst. Head Coach)... just check it out...

Should we give Cremins another chance to guide the Gamecocks to the sweet 16? pause, pause.......INCOMING!

I was all for hiring Cremins in the first place. But it seems USC always has some jackass with an ego standing in the way of what the fans would want. McGee, in this case......

Cremins, at least, would've healed some old wounds.....and probably would've landed at least a couple of the big names that have left the state of South Carolina. (Did you hear the announcers talking about South Carolina high schools during the UNC-Tech game?? Between those two teams, there are THREE South Carolina boys playing!!!)

Is there a worse football-basketball combo in the country than USC's in the 6 major conferences? Baylor, maybe? Northwestern? That's fine company, huh?

I am sick of hearing some of our fans cling to college baseball like it was some lifeboat in a sea of athletic failure. I'm sick of hanging our hat on a sport that is never televised on major networks, never reported on during SportsCenter and most of the nation couldn't give a crap about. Our athletic program is pathetic. Whereas most schools have either football or basketball to look forward to every season, we have neither. Being a Gamecock can really suck sometimes.

God, I hope Spurrier can take us into the big time. He's our last hope. But to be brutally honest, I will be shocked if he ever does......

Yeah.....I'm pretty PO'd right now. AST better NOT return. Those boys are gonna hate my guts over there.

BTW....Raptor....you're right about the Miami coach. Good call.

Mark my words, the Canes will be a power in basketball eventually. The ACC will do them a world of good....they'll recruit like crazy....and they have tons of athletes down there to recruit. They've been a monster waiting to happen for awhile....and the ACC affiliation is just the kick-start they needed.

That's all we need, isn't it? The Canes to become a basketball power too??? There's no justice in collegiate athletics, that's for sure.....

Can anyone say "BOBBY CREMINS"? If McGhee didn't have such a huge ego, he would have selected the right guy after Fogler!!! But he didn't and now we are paying for it with mediocrity. Odom is a fine man...but not the right choice for this team and conference. What is Brian Winters doing these days? Oh for days we were in the ACC...isn't it ironic the ACC is the best football and Bball conference? AP '72 USC
