We will go 13-0, invent a cure for cancer, save the world, and get screwed out of another national championship!
USC
Central Florida = W
At Georgia = W
Alabama = W
Troy St. = W
At Auburn = L
Kentucky = W
Vanderbilt = W
At Tennessee = Toss

Florida = Toss
Clemson = W
The "Toss" games we will probably lose, but I think Spurrier may upset one of them though.

Usually do...
I hate the USC game every year. This year more than ever. It won't be so bad when USC is Considered a contender by the national media, then if you lose it doesn't hurt your ranking as bad, but the past couple of years, despite the talent at USC and the coach, Everyone expected a big win, and if it wasn't big you lost some points, which is alful when you see the talent they had.

Wow, we are getting zero respect for next season. Thats cool, I like pkaying as the underdog. Someone tell our team that we are not man enough, I would appreciate that as well. Anyways here is how I see our season going.
Boise St. @ Athens = win
Cocks @ Athens = win
Louisiana Monroe @ Athens = win
MSU @ Starkville = win
Tennesse @ Knoxville = loss (not giving up though)
Vandy @ Nashville = win
Arky @ Athens = win
Florida @ Jacksonville = tossup
Auburn @ Athens = win
Kentucky @ Athens= win
GT @ Atlanta = win
We will not be as talented at skill positions next year but, our schedule is so much easier next season. I see UT and UF as potential losses. But nobody will know until the games are actually played.

I don't see that happening. UGA is losing wayyy to many playmakers on both sides to have results like that. Your opener is against Boise State and they proved this year that they can hang. If your not careful, you could open the SEC with an 0-1 record.

Long and drawn out, I know, but I had already typed it up in my intro post which got moved, so here goes...
Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I've been lurking but thought I'd say hello and give my breakdown of my Tigers for 2005.
First, an overview of the team. Coach Borges will work wonders with QB Brandon Cox, the wr's and te's are returning, as well as most of the o-line (we'll know about McNeil tomorrow). With Stewart, Slaughter, Lester, Irons, and Tre Smith, I believe we'll be pretty good at RB. Coach Gran has proven he has a good eye for RB talent, and Coach Borges has proven he knows how to utilize them. I see us being a little shaky at first, but believe we'll be bettyer than OK before too long.
On defense, we also have some holes to fill, but if Coach Chizik (just announced Frank Broyles winner as top asst) can replace Dansby, Demarco, DT and the others and put a defense like this years on the field, then I have no reason to start doubting him now. More depth on both sides of the ball, and excellent starters will help this transition.
The schedule. The first 5 games are at home...a big, big plus. While I realize GT will be good, I believe we'll take them. I think the next real test will be USC in game 5. W/Spurrier at the helm, they have a chance to be very good, but I don't know if they have the players to run his system. Will he adapt or will they adapt? I don't know, but the homer in me likes the Tigers at home. Again, this is game 5, and we shouldn't be having issues with inexperience by then. We follow that with an off-week before a trip to Fayetteville. If what I saw from them at the end of the season w/o Jones is an indication of what they'll look like, I won't be too worried; however I believe Nutt will have them ready and they are always tough at home. I think we can take them, but it won't resemble the blowout of '04. The West could easily come down to the AU-LSU game once again. However, I'm going to side w/the stability at Auburn over the new coaching staff at LSU, but it will be tough. The next 2 are OM and KY...should be wins for my Tigers. We then travel to UGA. Shockley doesn't scare me in the least, and now that their DC, along w/Davis and Thurman have gone pro, the defense should be weaker than this year. The final, and I do believe very real test, will come at home vs Bama. I believe Bama will be good, if they stay healthy. If not, then we win. If so, I still believe we win because I've seen nothing from Shula that tells me he can coach at this level.
So, it seems I have my Tigers going undefeated, yet again. That's damn near impossible, so we'll probably slip up somewhere along the line. Don't know where, but hope it's at a place and time that won't keep us out of Atlanta.
I think UT is the team to beat in the East, so I expect us to play them again in the big show. Is it possible for us to beat them 4 times in a row? If you had asked me before '03, I'd have said no way. However, now, I think it's possible. Probable? I don't know, but definitely possible.
Thoughts?

2005 schedule
UAB@home-Win
I am glad we are not playing them in basketball :(
Gators@the swamp-Loss
The last team to score will win. I just cannot convince myself that the Vols will take three straight at the swamp. I know my Vols have been road warriors the past couple of years, but nobody owns the swamp except the Gators. Leak will be huge in this game and could even set off a run at the Heisman(not saying he will make the final 5)
LSU@the real Death Valley-Win
We owe them one for 2000 and SECG 2001. Did I mention I drove from K-town to Baton Rouge for that game. LSU has a tremendous advantage with their stadium and their fans are as passionate bunch as I have met. 99% of their fans were great ambassadores for the Tiger program.
Mississippi@home-Win
Call it Cutcliffe's revenge. If you do not believe that Phil will try and get back at Ole Miss for firing his buddy, then you might not want to watch the game. The Rebels should be better next year, but it will not matter. I am predicitng 50 points for the Vols.
Georgia@home-Win
Tennesse will win, but DJ Shockley will have the game of his career. If Tennessee is leading the SEC East when this game is played, the Vols will play tight and Georgia will have a chance to take another game at Neyland(that really hurts to say that)
Alabama@Tuscaloosa-Win
Tennesse probably still has the Tide's number for one more year. Hopefully Bama can stay healthy in 2005. It will be a crazy atmosphere down in Bama and unfortunaltely we will hear about the small percentage of fans from both sides who end up acting like idiots. I wonder if ESPN's gameday crew is man enough to come down to T-town for this game.
South Carolina@home-Win
Can this game be anything but a close game? I think not. The ole ball coach makes his return to Neyland stadium. The orginal lightning rod for Phil Fulmer led Vols. I am excited and thrilled that Steve is back in the SEC East. UT's streak against the Gamecocks will be put to the test. In the end, Tennessee is probably a few players better than USC. If Spurrier goes back to Florida Spurrier coaching and keeps the recruiting positive that Lou Holtz got rolling, then it is going to be interesting to see how strong the SEC East is.
Notre Dame@South Bend-Win
The last time Tennessee played in South Bend, it was one of the most memorable games in both schools history. Notre Dame raced out to big lead and the Vols looked lost. The Vols gained some momentum back with a blocked FG right before half. The second half saw the Vols put on possible the best comeback in Vols recent history. Oh yeah, the game in 2005 :D
In another of the close games, David Cutcliff get another chance at beating Phil Fulmer(albeit as a QB coach). Having him to break down the Vols will be a huge deal for the Irish. The coaching will be great and depending on now they do before this game should help to determine if the Irish will be able to beat the Vols twice in a row. The Vols owe the Irish a payback and will have some flashback karma going on in South Bend.
Memphis@home-Win
The Tiggers are just not strong enough to hang for four quarters.
Vanderbilt@home-Win
How dare the Dores hang with the Vols in 2004. I smell payback
Kentucky@the coldest stadium in the SEC
If the Vols do not freeze, then they will do the same to the Cats as the Dores
Looking at the schedule and only predicting one loss is pretty arrogant on my UT homer ways. The Vols could have as many as 4 losses next year if the ball does not bounce the correct way for the Vols. With the exception of the Secondary, the Vols look locked and loaded for a run at another SECCG.

I really don't know what Ole Miss will do this year. We have a coach that is totally opposite of Cut. All I know is Ole Miss won't be starting the second and third stringers at the skill positions next year like they did this past year.

UT has a very good chance of going undeafeated. The only team that scares me is Georgia. LSU, UF, and Bama lost too many players and dont have the athletes that UT does. Plus, with the KILLER recruits we have coming in, 2005-06 should be a one loss season, at the most, for the Vols.
Bring the pain, haters.

Gator, your graphics are great! Your assessment of Les Miles, however, is probably lacking. You'll find out when you come to Baton Rouge (and you should come to see what real tailgating, stadium noise, and high-quality football are really like!). You'll go home a new man... defeated... but a new man!
;)
Thanks! We shall certainly see next year. I like The Swamp's stadium noise just fine, though....must be a reason NCAA 2005 gave us the no. 1 "toughest" ranking. ;) But, seriously, you already know we can win in BR...we're not worried. We did it in 2003, when you won the title....and you aren't winning one in 2005. Urban's Warfare is going to keep "Less" Miles up for days.
Aside from that, UF is 14-3 against LSU since 1988.
You guys should be worried less about Florida and more about Miles grinding your program into SEC-West mediocrity. When was his last trip to the Big XII title game? Hmmm. Truth is, Miles has a proven record of simply not getting it done. He may have a nice voice--a trait over which one Louisiana article seemed to fixate--but he's not on par with Saban. =)

Georgia? They lose 9 (same as UT), including Greene, Gibson, and Pollack. Shockley has talent but also a lot to prove. They'll be good, but UF loses just about as many (10). LSU only loses 7. Also, UT--with all of their "athletes"--was LAST in the SEC in pass defense and 73rd (yes, 73rd) overall. Ouch. With Meyer's spread attack out of the shotgun, I'd say you have more to worry about against UF than UGA's Ware (i.e., UT brings back a solid DL). Fulmer will be stuffing those Krispy Kremes down like a crazy man leading up to the Florida game.....film study, film study, cry like a baby, and then more film study. And everyone knows that Meyer always comes up with new wrinkles for gameday just "to irritate people." Gotta love it!
I also don't like your chances in The Swamp....it's gonna be rowdy! And with two blowout wins (very likely) under our belt by that point, we Gators are going to have a taste for blood.

I have to agree with ya Gator. That's a pretty "gutsy" statement to make. Probably as crazy as saying that just because Spurrier's at USC, he can't recruit. If you were to follow the thread titled: "USC Recruiting" you would know that statement by Troxel is about as watertight as the Titanic. :) Granted, Spurrier didn't have to recruit at Florida. The recruits came to him and that's a luxury he knows he doesn't have right now at USC. If you've noticed, Spurrier has been on the road non-stop and if you looked at the visits we are getting, you wouldn't think he has only 71 days between the moment he was hired and NSD.

Well, let's see how long that lasts! I love Spurrier, but he was always known for his distaste concerning recruiting. He'll be Mr. Busy for a year or two--because the situation sort of requires it--but then it'll taper off. I think he needs to win pretty early on at USC, if he's going to precipitate a revival for the Gamecocks. Spurs doesn't want a long, drawn out, uphill climb....if it takes too long--or if it in any way models Holtz's struggles--I don't think he'll stay. At that point, he's likely to try the NFL again. Maybe that's inevitable anyway. Who knows.

You've won in Baton Rouge... we've won in Gainsville. And, so far, I like what I hear (and see) of this Miles guy. He talks the talk; we'll have to see if he can walk the walk. As for his success at OKState, he had a basketball program on campus more popular than his, and, of course, there was the ever-present Stoops (the perpetual whiner who makes up more excuses for losing than an Alabama fan). In Louisiana, LSU is king in football recruiting and the basketball program (currently in the toilet) only attracts a few thousand at best. As a matter of fact, most people, right now, like the Lady Tigers basketball much better.
The real element, though, that makes LSU a real contender in 2005 and a very likely victor over the Gators is their talent. We are loaded everywhere; lots of blue-chippers, lots of experience returning.
We'll win the tough ones (Tennessee, Florida, Alabama, Auburn), and we'll beat the Vols for the SEC championship.
And the Gators??? Here's a REALISTIC prediction for 2005:

I believe that the first two years of his tenure at USC he will have to hit the recruiting trails hard. If he has the success that I think he's going to have, he will be able to lay back a little on the recruiting and let his other coaches do most of it. We need to have immediate success and a good recruiting base for him to be able to ease up and he knows it. All in all, looking at film on some of our recruits, he's got some NICE ones.
http://vmedia.rivals.com/IMAGES/PROSPECT/PHOTO/TOMMYBEECHER1150.JPGOne of them I have seen with my own eyes. His name is Tommy Beecher and he is out of Concord, NC which is only about 30 miles from my apt. This kid is the real thing. ...and, of course, there was the ever-present Stoops (the perpetual whiner who makes up more excuses for losing than an Alabama fan).
Miles was the coach of the (perpetually) third or fourth best team in the Big XII South. He had plenty of time to get that program into elite status, but couldn't get it done. I think that's an indictment on his coaching ability. If you think the shadow of Texas and OU hurt Miles' chances to break out of that middle-tier status, how much will a more powerful SEC shadow affect him? He didn't do too well in his bowl game either. Lots to question with this guy.
In Louisiana, LSU is king in football recruiting and the basketball program (currently in the toilet) only attracts a few thousand at best. As a matter of fact, most people, right now, like the Lady Tigers basketball much better.
LSU has done well of late, but they are far from being the "king" of recruiting. Many other SEC teams have a better historical track record in terms of recruiting...and if Zook hadn't been fired, we probably would have had a higher class than you this year, too. We were looking at a top-3 class with Zook, Dixon, Fedora, and Locksley.

Like I said before....you guys were loaded when you won the title. That didn't matter....and we beat you at your place to boot. You should've lost this year, too....if it wasn't for our inexplicable late 4th-quarter collapse. UF is loaded too. Siler is probably better than Crowder, Leak is a junior, Wynn will fill Fason's shoes nicely....don't forget, we're loaded too. ;)

You really think Meyer is going to lose four games??? Ummm....no. But thanks for playing....we have some lovely parting gifts for you. UT should be a tough game until the second half....unless Meyer's scheme against a bad UT secondary gives us a nice lead by the break. LSU we've discussed. UGA loses some great people, but they have talent. I think we're still in their heads...if we smack them early, they might fold. USC should be a win......especially if you've got us over "that team in the panhandle" (FSU).
I really think we can go far this year....we've had amazing classes, we have the talent/athletes to compete with anybody....we've just been underachieving because of a lack of coaching (and poor coaching). Meyer will change that, and I think 2005 will be the first year we really start playing up to the level we are capable of playing. We'll probably stumble along the way somewhere....maybe UGA (i.e., going undefeated is very, very optimistic), but Leak is going to be a legit Heisman finalist, and Meyer will have this team believing it can beat the Steelers.
Final analysis: I think the east is well within our reach with a BCS bowl not out of the question...

You've been really critical of Les Miles and his stint in the Big XII. Maybe you should look again at Urban's experience. Utah?? What conference?? Who has he played?? Could be that the speed and talent and the relentless week to week of the SEC will so awe Urban Meyer that he will get off to a very shaky start. He's never been in a stadium like the Swamp, much less Tiger Stadium! He's got some quick growing up and learning to do if he's going to be successful in the SEC, even with the good talent and excellent facilities he'll have at UF.

What games are so optimisitic. Boise doesn't have the athletes to compete with top tier SEC teams. They held their own against Louisville, but Louisville isn't UGA. SC loses their only real receiving threat and their QB. They have 2 fine Rb's returning and lose 2 starters on the online. Add 6 defensive starters on to that, and I think UGA is fine. UT is gonna be tough, but the way things have been in this series the past few years, it's hard to predict much of anything. This is the bulldog's biggest test of the year. Florida has gone 36-14 over the last four years. Gator fans blame it all on Zook but refuse to accept that some of the talent from those great recruiting classes has never materialized. Jarvis Moss, Joe Cohen, Chad Jackson, just to name a few. They lose their best LB and the best running back in the SEC this year. Tate Casey is a very average TE and there will be issues on the OL, LB' s, and the secondary. Chris Leak has shown time and time again that he will not take a hit so Meyer better come up with some way to combat that. Florida fans speak of Manning not winning big games but what big games has Leak won. Meyer is the hot young coach but hasn't proven a whole lot winning in two patsy conferences. Welcome to the SEC and good luck. Auburn always scares me. They are similar to UGA in that they lose a lot of names but return a lot of meat. Young and quick on defense, they will be better than most people give credit. Hey I might be wrong, but I think my arguements are more than valid.

1. LSU: This team is over-rated. The Tide wins this one in an O.T. thriller.
2. Tenn.: Should have a good team. I think Alabama's defense will win this one while Croyle and the Offense play steady.
3. USC: This team is getting way too much hype for no reason. We'll win this one by no less than ten points.

I am most definitely going to have to disagree. Bama's defense almost won it for them this year against a young Volunteer offense. Next season our offense will be back with more experience and a lot of talent. I just can't see Bama's defense, even though they are talented, standing up to our offense. Not to mention that our defense won't be too bad either. This game will be good, and hard fought, but your defense just won't have enough to hold up.

Yeah right,Did you watch the Alabama Tennessee game.UT got very lucky BAMA had 3rd string quarterback in,2nd string running back and a 2nd string tailback in for a little bit and UT was fully healthy and almost still lost.If BAMA is healthy this season they can beat UT.
SC loses their only real receiving threat and their QB.
Yes we lost Troy Williamson. It's a real shame. In that loss, we gained someone. We have a RSFreshman WR by the name Sidney Rice. This guy is 6-4 and has a 35 inch vertical leap. His speed may only be 4.4, but with that height, he gives the offense a new dimension. I'm not even counting the receiver we signed this year that is 6-6.
As for losing a few starters on the OL/DL, that is correct. If you remember though, Holtz had a habit of rotating his players so everyone played a few games. So technically, all of these guys have gametime experience. Not to mention the fact that Holtz redshirted about 7 linemen last year. So the question of depth no longer applies in this case.
I don't know how close you have been following USC, but Dondrial Pinkins was not the starting QB. Syvelle Newton started more games than he did and technically his stats were a lot better.
Taking 2004 into consideration, USC had yall beat. Then Holtz had to go and slam on the brakes to the offense.
As for UGA, we ALWAYS play you guys fairly tight and to say that Greene, Pollack, Gibson, Thurmond, etc, etc won't be missed and can be replaced easily is crazy.
You cannot buy, coach, steal or learn experience. Believe it or not dawg fans, the loss of those guys is going to hurt this squad. You cannot lose playmakers like that and not expect a drop-off.

I just think that Bama isn't out of the woods just yet. They are still thin at key positions and the soonest I can see them making a "ripple" in the SEC is 2006. That gives Shula two (2) full years of recruiting to fill up his depth chart. :D I honestly see this Bama squad going 8-3 TOPS!
More than likely, 7-4.

I agree and disagree here. Yes, I am partial, but have nothing against Alabama. But, for you or anyone else to sit there and say USC is getting too much hype for no reason is almost funny. Any team, whether USC or anyone else, that Steve Spurrier is coaching is going to get hype, and for very good reason. His record speaks for itself. For him to be number 24 in recruiting right now, having been at Carolina for only 2 months, actually not quite that long, is simply amazing. And, from what I have read, his worst first year at any school so far is 9-2. That was with far less talent than he is starting with here. I can assure you your coaching staff does not share your sentiments, nor does anyone else that knows anything about Steve Spurrier. I am not trying to go off on a soap box here, but give the man the respect he deserves. Fulmer and other coaches in this conference deserve the same respect. Fulmer probably started vomiting blood when Spurrier made his announcement!! LOL :)
All the naysayers, dude. Just what lights Spurrier's fire. He is probably sitting in his office right now, looking at the schedule with that sheepish smirk, licking his chops. Like I have said before, instead of Carolina dreading games like UGA, Tenn, Florida, and others. We will live for them!!

I agree. And, you know what, if we have some rough spots next season, it's still gonna be fun to watch. :) By the way, looking back on the Georgia game last year, can you imagine us being up 16-3 at the half with Steve in charge? It would have been lights out. May have been a blow out.

Newton only got a DI offer because his brother was a great I-AA player. I'd love to play SC with Newton at the helm for all 12 games next year. SC got a gift playing us with all of the suspensions and what not this year. I love how underrated the dogs are. It's going to be sweet.

I love how you call it a gift. Considering we intercepted the *Great* David Greene three (3) times and sacked him for six. I really like the one made by AADROTY Ko Simpson. He ran it back 67 yards on those "dawgs". :D
Dude, put down the crackpipe and step away. Syvelle Newton got a shot because of who????

Of course, I could be wrong in some of these predictions. One of these teams might jump up and bite you, so look out and pay attention. The Egg Bowl should be a must-watch this year, because it could be a battle for a bowl game. Arkansas might not have a very good season, but Houston Nutt has done more with less before. Vanderbilt was expected to go to a bowl last year, but, like Auburn, may deliver results a year late (I doubt it, though). It looks bad for Kentucky this year.

Leak beat FSU in Doak....for the first time since, like, the 80's (and on the day they named the field after Bowden, lol!). I'd say that's a pretty big win. Here's another one: how 'bout winning on the road in Death Valley the year LSU won the championship? That's pretty big, too.
As for Meyer, he is 10-1 against BCS-conference teams...and he accomplished THAT with lesser athletes at almost every position. Alex Smith was the third-string QB before Meyer got to Utah. Now he's in the top-3 on Mel Kiper's "Big Board." Sounds like he knows what he's doing.....and that will continue, even in the SEC.

09/24/05 Tennessee Baton Rouge TOSSUP

11/19/05 Ole Miss Oxford WIN
11/26/05 Arkansas Baton Rouge WIN

Here are my predictions for USC:
Central Florida = W
At Georgia = L
Alabama = W
Troy St. = W
At Auburn = L
Kentucky = W
Vanderbilt = W
At Tennessee = L
At Arkansas = W
Florida = L
Clemson = Toss
I think 6-5 or 7-4 is realistic. As much as I hate to admit it, SC has to get over the mental hump of losing to Clemtech in order to finally get a win. I guess that's the ONLY way to get over the hump is to get a win but SC usually doesn't fare well when I pick them to beat the tigers. I'm hoping for much better but I'm trying to be a realist.

there is a big difference in coaching, recruiting and being able to handle it all which Meyer has yet to prove. playing with others recruits and winning is one thing (ask terry bowden) but keeping it going is another.
jury is out on les with LSU but at least he has been coaching in a BCS conference and knows what to expect on a week to week basis. we will see.

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah....the Cocks are always a pain in the a$$!!! (no pun intended!!)
I see NO reason that should change with Spurrier being there!!
I can (gulp!) see you guys going 8-3, although 7-4 would be a more realistic goal!!
I am looking for about an 8-3 season. Couple of bright sides, though. I personally dont think anybody Carolina plays next season is going undefeated, including Auburn, who will have a much different look next season. Good, absolutely, but 13-0, I will have to see that to believe it. Tennessee undefeated? No more than any other year. Point I am making is, as tough as this division is about to be, noone is probably going undefeated, and anyone can be taken down. That is my opinion of realistic. If Lou can win 6 or 7, Steve should easily be able to win 8. The talent here is not as awful as people think. Everyone keeps saying he needs a couple of good recruiting years to win. Well, I agree to some extent, but he has some dang good athletes here now. As much as I love Lou, and I do, he just sometimes did not let his athletes play. He got up by a touchdown, and tried to run the clock out. Steve is going to expect everything these kids have. He is not only going to let them score points, but it will be expected. No more QB draw on 3rd and 14. He will not be afraid to go for peoples throat if he sees an opportunity. Rest of my other bright side is Spurrier has coached in the SEC, knows Fulmer and the rest, and has had great success against them. I dont see why in the world he would have come here if he could not win. Lastly, he will have this team believing they can win 11 games, and that he expects them to do just that. I have been an athlete. When your coach drills that in your head day after day, sooner or later it will catch on, and will light fire to Columbia, South Carolina. :) :)

I think 7-4 is the best South Carolina will do this year. Steve Spurrier was a dang good coach but this is not Florida people. USC will be good if he sticks with them but this won't be y'alls year. This is how I think USC will do:
Central Florida- Win
@ Georgia- Loss
Alabama- Loss
Troy- Win
@ Auburn- Win
Kentucky- Win
Vanderbilt- Win
@ Tennessee- Loss
@ Arkansas- Win
Florida- Win
Clemson-Loss
Y'all will have an impressive four game streak if I'm right about this. :D

Wha???? What are you talking about??? Meyer turned those programs around. You make it sound like he inherited nine- and ten-win teams. Go look up the records of Bowling Green and Utah the years before he got there. Do your HW before you post stuff.
BG was 2-9 in 2000...they went 9-3 Meyer's first year.
some notable nc-games:
Missouri (BG scored 50+ points)
Northwestern
Utah was 5-6 in 2003. Meyer's first team went 10-2, and 13-0 this year.
some notable nc-games:
Texas A&M
North Carolina (who beat Miami)
Southern Miss (who beat Nebraska in NE)
California
Oregon
Yes, Meyer still has a lot to prove, sure, but give the man props when he deserves them. There may be no other coach who has done more with less.....

The only talent UNC players have is looking at themselves in the mirror. You seem to forget I live in TarHOLE country and they are so full of themselves. They got lucky against Miami. :D
They actually convinced themselves that SOS was coming there instead of USC and since then, now they talk smack about him.
They have refused to play USC in football or basketball. The only way they will play us is 1 game in Charlotte, the other at Chapel Hill. Now how fair is that? USC would get the bum end of the stick from a financial standpoint alone.
Williams Bryce Stadium - 82K and some change.
Keenan Stadium (CH) - 36K and some change.
Bank of America Stadium - 72K and some change.
Keep in mind we would have to split the ticket sales with UNC evenly. Now how would USC make any money by playing in Chapel Hill and Charlotte when our stadium holds more than both?

You wanna know how lucky they are??? Here's the stats:
2004: 6-6
2003: 2-10
2002: 3-9
2001: 8-5
See why Mack Brown left? UNC suks and have gotten progressively worse over the years and all they are saying now is how they are going to win the ACC and junk like that. It's sickening. I could honestly see that they had a fighting chance if they have had more than one (1) winning season in the last few years. Not to mention, they got their butts handed to them by Boston College in the Continental Tire Bowl.
Almost every team they beat last year had a losing record. (Duke, Wake Forest, GT, William and Mary, NC State and Miami) That list hardly constitutes a possible championship season.
Clemson beat Miami too. Clemson then lost to DUKE! :D What does that tell you? This was an off year for Miami.

...who lost (giving up 70) to San Jose State (2-9)
...who lost to Washington (1-10)
Would you say NU is an inferior team to those on the list? ;)
Well, by that logic, consider this:
Nebraska lost to Southern Miss in Lincoln...
...who lost to Texas Christian (5-6)
...who lost to South Florida (4-7)
...who lost to Army (2-9)
...who lost to East Carolina (2-9)
...who lost to Houston (3-8)
...who lost to Rice (3-8)
...who lost (giving up 70) to San Jose State (2-9)
...who lost to Washington (1-10)

Please don't compare Nebraska to the TarHOLES. :( There is no comparision. NU has a history, UNC does not. I watched that USM/NU game. It was clearly a slip-by. It was the ABCSports game of the week.
Everyone is entitled to a "bad" game here and there. That much is certain.
BTW: Are you saying that Southern Miss lost to all of those teams or is it "They lost to them and then that team lost to such and such"?

I respect your opinion, and you may be right. My point was, he has MUCH more talent now at Carolina than he did at Florida his first year, ended 9-2 at Florida, and would have won the SEC if they had not been on probation. :)
I agree with you about Spurrier. He is going to win. USC might just lose two games. Of the Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, and Florida onslaught, I think USC will beat Bama, Auburn, and Florida. They will likely lose to Georgia and Tennessee.
Spurrier is going to wreak some havoc in 2005. He'll have athletes doing things you never thought they could do. Keep your eyes on the Gamecocks in 2005!

I'm not....I'm just extending your logic.

I would agree....but the SMiss game was evidence of much more than a slip up. Ol' Billy C qb'd Nebraska to a sub-.500 season....the worst in how many years? I think it dates back to the 60s or something. And don't get me started on NU's winning "tradition." When you play in the less-than-impressive Big 8 with only one game to worry about every year (OU)--a game NU would lose more often than not--you're almost guaranteed to have consistent nine-win seasons. If Nebraska had to play Miami, UT, FSU, and Georgia every year, they would have stumbled much, MUCH earlier in their history. No doubt about it.

Yes.

It's your opinion that NU would have stumbled. I don't think they would have. There's only one or two teams that I can think of that could contain NU's rushing attack. You saw what NU did to Florida that year in the Fiesta Bowl!
I loved how you didn't include Florida in that bunch. ;)
As for the others, since 1990 NU has played:
Miami: 3 Times
Florida State: 2 Times
Tennessee: 2 Times
Florida and Virginia Tech.
Here's NU's record against SEC opponents:
Alabama: 2-3-0
Arkansas: 0-1-0
Auburn: 3-0-0
Florida: 2-0-0
Georgia: 1-0-0
LSU: 5-0-1
Miss: 0-1-0
MSU: 1-0-0
USC: 3-0-0
Tenn: 2-0-0

I didn't include Florida, because that is (only part of) our schedule each year! =) As for the other teams you mentioned, those were mostly bowl games. If NU was playing in the SEC in the 90s, I'm not so sure they would have had the same success. Beating up on poor little Big XII north teams and then winning a bowl game is much different than having to bring your "A" game against superior (or, at least, comparable) talent each and every week. Maybe NU beats Florida anyway in 1995-6, but they wouldn't have gotten through an entire SEC/ACC schedule that year with Berringer subing for Frazier. No way. I just don't think it would happen.

Now that I agree with you. Tommie Frazier was the man! :D
I think 7-4 is the best South Carolina will do this year. Steve Spurrier was a dang good coach but this is not Florida people. USC will be good if he sticks with them but this won't be y'alls year. This is how I think USC will do:
Rookie Mistake NooneLT! :D
We're gonna win 9-11 games next year buddy!
And this isn't your dad's Bama. This Bama squad was pounded by the NCAA, decimated by injuries, embarrassed by Minnesota and just now is off of probation. For you to say that Bama will go 10-1 and USC to go 7-4 (Considering we stomped you in your house) is nuts.
