How well are they going to replace their back feild next year? Also who will step up for the loss of Rogers? Basically are they going to be a big factor in the SEC next year. Also, do you give USC a shot at beating them with such a Graduation hit?

I think USC would have a shot. A minute one, but a shot.

As a Tide fan, I must stay filled in on what Auburn is doing.

Auburn probably won't be much of an SEC contender next year. They will have some Freshman-to-be-Sophomore next year and Tre Smith at RB but they are nothing like Carnell and Ronnie so don't worry about that. I'm gonna say that they lose games to Alabama, Georgia, LSU, UT, and SC if y'all play them.

If only this board actually had an Auburn fan... :p

Auburn may get hit bad with graduation/Draft, but 5 losses?

I guess that could happen. Look at what happened to LSU this year. They lost a couple and barely squeaked by some lesser opponents.

Here is the Auburn fan that this board has! I am not sure how Auburn will do next year without Jason Campbell, Ronnie Brown, Cadillac Williams and Carlos Rogers. I do know that even though we faced every challenge set before us this year and overcame every one of those challenges, we got the bad end of the deal when it came to the polls. I hope all SEC fans are outraged by this. I doubt Auburn will have this caliber of a team again for some time. That is what is sad about the whole situation...that when we had the fantastic unstoppable team, we still didn't get the credit and respect we deserved. Also, South Carolina does play Auburn this year at Jordan-Hare. It is on October 1st and that will be a very tough game for me. I will have to pull for Auburn...unless South Carolina is undefeated or really needs this game for something. My mother will be pulling for South Carolina as she is a very devoted Gamecock fan!

Auburn will fall back to 3rd in the West next year with LSU and Alabama coming ahead of them.

Not really a bad thing though as any team that losses what they will lose is going to suffer.

AU will have an ALL-Mr-Football offensive backfield next year.
QB - Brandon Cox - Ala Mr Football
RB - Trey Smith - Fla Mr Football
RB - Carl Stewart - Tenn Mr Football

They will be green with the exception of Trey Smith who lit up Bama for 125 yds two years ago when Ronnie Brown and Caddy were injured. The starting FB is also returning when we run a set with a FB. Carl Stewart is a clone of Brown sizewise. There will be some dropoff from this year but we have excellent talent stepping up AND the first 5 games next year are at home so they will have some time to adjust before the meat of the schedule hits.

The two biggest challenges next year will be LSU and UGa both on the road.

On the defensive side, at DB we have lots of guys with playing time returning plus two JUCO all-stars. One, Irons, is already in school and rehabbing a knee. His brother, a xfer from USC, has been great as a TB on the scout team this year and will challenge for the starters job at TB next year. We lose one DT but lots of depth there. We also lose 2 DE(1 starter) but we had TWO FR All-american DEs as backups, so that position isn't a worry either. They both recorded seven and a half sacks this year.

All our receivers are back. QB Cox completed about 68% of his passes this year but it was mop up time.

Those who are not familiar with the team see those guys leaving and assume there will be a huge dropoff. There will be some dropoff, but Tuberville has been stockpiling some really good depth.

The keys to our season will hinge on these guys stepping up. Ga Tech is our opener and it will be tough with the new guys we have starting. If we beat Tech, and I think we will, there are not likely to be any more losses until we go to LSU and UGa.

There is NO chance we lose to Bama. Their OL will be worse than this year and Brodie is not likey to make it a full season, just as he hasn't the last two years.

Auburn will have a 7-4 type season next year, not due to a lack of talent but lack of experience in some skill positions. Ga Tech could cause some trouble for a young QB and RB, and our secondary will be a huge question mark!

Yeah, I think it will be 7-4 or MAYBE stretch it to 8-3..... but who knows for sure until we see how well the team comes together with the loss of many "star" players.

it is true that many starters next year will likely be sophomores.... but keep in mind that many of THIS year's non-starters did get to see gametime this season. Auburn played more players per game than most teams in the SEC, giving their freshmen/sophomores more experience than those on many other teams. Will this help them next year? Only time will tell....

I can say without a doubt that Auburn will likely not see the top of the SEC again this year due to some critical player losses. But at the same time, I think most of the players have adequate experience to hang in there for most of the games next season. I think a 7-4 season will be in AU's immediate future, but maybe we'll be surprised by what Tuberville can do with next year's team.

I just have my fingers crossed to finally take back that Iron Bowl win we've been missing lately. :p

USC did the same thing. Holtz constantly rotated the O & DL's in and out during series to get them plenty of PT.

To be honest Lou probably played so many because he couldn't remember who was in the game to begin with. Heck he still thought it was 1986 and could run the ball down teams mouths (which would have worked if we played in the southern confernce).

I will agree with about 95% of that statement. :)

I think AU is losing a lot of talent, but they have some good players returning. Apparently, they have a RB transfer from South Carolina (Irons maybe?). Do any of you SC fans know about him. Their OL will be good and their defensive front 7 will be strong too. I think they lose 3 games or so next season. Hopefully, 1 of those is to us!
