View Full Version : USC vs. Clemson
I saw this posted at another site and all USC fans really need to read it.
When Spurrier got turned down, or reneged upon by some coach who thought the grass was greener elsewhere..he didn't flinch. he made quick work of finding the guy who wanted to be on his staff...
Compare that to our rival coach. Tommy Bowden is getting turned out regularly. He has his present staff antsy and he cannot seem to get quality coaches to listen to him...
I know there will be some on here who say, but: they beat us regularly...let me save you the trouble... obviously i know of Lou's inexplicable futility to Tommy's team...
I don't see that things are going well for Clemson. With recruiting season in full swing they don't even have a DC..and I think if Tommy steps down to Troy and gets the guy he wants, he loses David Blackwell, a guy he desperately needs to hold his recruits in line...
Of course there are those who will say they are not concerned with Clemson, but USC could benefit, as it looks like Big Spur is organized...while Tommy and Clemson are floundering....
PS: This would not be a big deal if the media were handling it, as they should be...but it is a case of running interference for Clemson so as not to damage the program...
Whomever wrote this, is absolutely correct in my book.

I agree 100%....Clemson is in a bind....I think it started last year when they were wanting Bowden's head on a platter, then they upset FSU, so all of a sudden he's the best coach ever, and extend his contract....Yes, they have handed us our ass for the past several years...but I think things are starting to crumble in the upstate....and that message you posted bought up a good point...Spurrier has settled in and has a complete staff, moving forward with recruiting....Clemson has some recruits, but not a complete staff....little Bowden is in a bind

I agree that little bowden is in somewhat of a bind. With Spurrier coming in and working on turning SC into a contender for the SEC and National Championship, and bowdens team seemingly settling into the middle to lower tier of the new ACC I would say that in a few years bowden will probably be gone. It could happen sooner though because you know how chumpson fans are. Win a few games and you're the best coach ever but if you lose some games they want your head on a platter. That attitude will make cocahes think twice before going to a school. With the ACC getting stronger and SC getting stronger it looks like its only going to get harder for chumpson.
I'll go on the record and say that even if Bowden finishes 7-4 and loses to USC this year, he's gone.

I have watched Clemson beat us just about every year I was at the school, and now that I am out. My neighbors go to Clemson, and I can't stand listening to him talk it up about how USC never beats Clemson in football. This is the year of the Cock (and it actually is). I try not to wish anything bad upon anybody or anything, but Clemson is my exception. I hope they get bad recruits and the program does into dissarray.
Oh yeah, this is my first post.

Welcome to the site TKE. :)
Thanks.
And maybe there are more USC TKE's in here. Haha, even though we vanished from campus 2 years after I left.
And if X-Box is any indication of the season we will have...It will be USC vs USC in the Rose Bowl for the National Championship.
Thanks.

LOL!
I have an XBOX and I like to play NCAA 2K3 because it has the REAL coaching feature. Currently at Nebraska, I have won 1 MNC and I have an overall record of 72-20-0.
I am going to go to USC or UCF after this current season.
