Unbelievable! Ken Darby now has been diagnosed with a fractured pelvis. It is possibly a career-ending injury. I had hoped Bama left the bad injury luck in 2004. Not a good start for 2005.

If I'm not mistaken, that's what happened to the great Bo Jackson. If that's the case, he'll never play football again.

Definatly sucks. Darby is a good back and is capable of doing alot of good things for Alabama. We can only hope this isnt a career ender. I think Johns needs to hit the weight room and put on some more muscle and get ready to be gettin alot of use in 2005. Hopefully we can have both Johns and Darby available but you prepare for the worse and hope for the best.

first of all...hi~
i still think darby will be ok for fall, he may not practice in spring but he should be ok for the season. but...this really affects our recruiting running backs. right now we have glen coffee and ali sharrief, recruiting roy upchurch, mikell simpson, and mike davis, i think all 4 stars. i hope we get at least 1 more

I hate to tell you this. Mike Davis has eliminated Bama. He cancelled his visit and said he was no longer interested in Bama because he wants to play now and Bama already has quite a few TB's recruited.
Now Mike Davis has narrowed it down to Kentucky, USC and Clemson.

i think it's awesome that bama's had the worst 10 years of football in their history and people still believe they're top notch. we'll be back up there soon enough~

Mike Ford is a BEAST too! He is one of the fastest players in Florida and won AAAA Player of the Year.

I wouldn't say four. I would say maybe two (2) if certain key positions stay healthy and all can qualify. That's why schools always sign more than what they can allow. That is to make up for non-qualifiers.
That's one thing that has caught my eye. Spurrier goes after players that will qualify with no problem. The only exception is JUCO WR Julius McClellen. He approached Spurrier and now he's looking at Miss State because he cannot pass our academic standards.

ya mike shula is a helluva recruiter. last year we went 4-8 and had the number 15 or 16 recruiting class in the country. he hasn't proven himself as a coach yet, but people have to realize the limitations he's had to put up with. first season he had 1 month to install an offense, 2nd season, freak injuries to the entire backfield. i think he'll be taking Bama to the top in a couple of years~

This isn't aimed at anyone...This is just my general view on the Alabama football program.
I've said it a dozen times. Shula had his work cut out for him when he took the job. The odds were stacked against him so to judge him now would be totally unfair. A lot of the infractions occurred before Shula even accepted the job.
Scolly reductions really hurts a program and it takes years to build a program back when it was hit as hard as Bama was. Now, you can say that it was Bama's fault for the infractions and they should accept punishment. In that statement, you are correct, but for Bama fans to judge Shula now is a travesty. He's doing the best he can and if Bama fans are patient, I think he will revive the Alabama program and run a "Clean" Bama program.
