I did the unthinkable tonight, I cheered for Auburn...outloud. Jumped out of my chair, yelled at the TV, clapped, hid my eyed, said not so nice things about VT, and I admit it, I am fairly certain I felt genuine happiness when Auburn won. With that out of the way, I am going to go against everything I believe in to say Auburn has absolutely dominated college football this season. Congrats to Auburn on a fantastic game, and an amazing, undefeated season. I truly believe that Auburn needs to be recognized as National Champs. Ok I said it, and I ment it, let it be known, however, this opinion expires at the beginning of the 2005 season. ;)

You would be more qualified than anyone else to give that opinion too, having played them twice, classy move cheering for the fellow SEC team for a NC over an ACC team. I think SEC NC's are good for the league....

What chance do SEC teams have going undefeated and getting no shot of the National Championship?

I guess playing the Citadel hurt Auburn enough despite the tough SEC schedule???

Yep, Guess Tommy T. learned a lesson in scheduling, Auburn should be NC's this year, but won't happen. Anyway Congrats to Auburn!!

It was a good year for an SEC fan this year...lots to cheer about. Too bad that the polls and writers probably wont see it our way and give Auburn a share of the national title.

When is it not a good year to be in the SEC?
I pulled for the tigers big time last night. Good game guys.

I don't know if any of you cought it last night, but even the guys announcing the game, insinuated that Auburn deserved to be National Champs. It really is too bad that a team could go undefeated and not have a that title, its almost like a slap in the face to the young men who have worked their tails off to remain unbeaten.

They really should just let me run things! ;) :)

Why is everyone blaming TT for the schedule? The Citadel was a last mintue space filler because Auburn was supposed to play Bowling Green. Bowling Green dumped Auburn just a few weeks before the season kicked off to play Oklahoma.

Since all the Div. I teams were taken, they had to go to the Citadel.

KUDOS to Auburn and to Tubby. I thought he did a good and classy job of dealing with the media after the game. It all made the SEC look better.

Honestly,

There is no way in hell that they shouldn't be considered for a share of the title. Someone on ESPN said they didn't beat VT bad enough.

Were they watching the same game I was? Virginia Tech didn't score until 6:00 were left in the 4th qtr. By then, Auburn figured they had the game won!

I agree with Tubby on his assessment. "The object of the game is to win."

I'm very proud of Auburn and I sincerely feel that they are the best team in the country. Through the first three quarters of last nights game...they looked like it. But the last quarter was a different story. I thought they should've layed it on them. I know they could've layed it on them. Tommy T. looked a little bit like Houston N. when he has a lead. He sat on it. VT had a ton of missed opportunities too. Granted, they missed those opportunities b/c of a viscious Auburn D., but nonetheless, they missed a lot of them. Congrats to the Tigers on a perfect season, an SEC Championship and a Sugar Bowl win--but they won't gain any ground in either poll with that performance.

I admire TT because he could have run up the score, but he didn't. If you noticed, at the start of the 4th, TT called practically all running plays to try to run out the clock. He put sportsmanship ahead of winning.

well Tommy T. did not want to schedule The Citadel. He was suppose to play BGSU however they pulled out from playing Auburn so that they could play Oklahoma. Go figure that would knock them out of a chance of a Natl championship. I am starting to hate the whold BCS process. They are telling me that because USC finished with such a high rank last year is the reason they have been able to maintain the top spot this year. Well with the weak PAC 10 they will forever be champions.

He did what he had to to win!! If he could have run the score up a little more I think he would have.

Didn't know that Del. I don't blame Bowling Green I would rather play Oklahoma too.

That's what I'm saying Rebel. The last possession they had they were on VT's 25 yard line. Instead of running out the clock, he could have had Campbell take a few shots to the endzone, but he didn't.

Granted a lot of Ole Miss fans aren't too keen on TT and that's understandable, but you have to admit he showed a lot of respect for VT, Beamer and the game by NOT running up the score so he could advance at someone elses expense.
