View Full Version : Steve Spurrier on Urban Meyer?
Spurrier was quoted as saying that "Meyer was hot at the right time; good for him."
He did not say this, but I got the impression that he saw Meyer as the flavor of the month.

Do feel spurrier will come after urban meyer when they meet this year.

Honestly,
I do not think Spurrier will pull any punches against Florida.
My sources told me the following:
When Foley originally called Spurrier to see if he was interested in returning, he wanted him to apply like everyone else. Spurrier told Foley: "If you wanna see my resume, go look in your trophy case." After that he hung up the phone and never looked back.

i think SC and Flordia next year is gonna be tough on Spurrier. he loved Flordia and i think still does, i don't think he would do anything to hurt that university other then go for a simple win.
i think that'll be that 1 game this year he doesn't try to run up the score on.

It's still rather funny what he had to say about Meyer though. heh heh
Flavor of the month? LOL!
I hope he backs up his mouth, Meyer is no joke, however, Meyer is the good boy, the family man, he's like the guy who waited till he was 20 to lose his virginity. SOS is more the badboy, cocky, etc., etc., Should be an interesting matchup..., I think the only major difference in talent between the two schools is at QB right now, that may change before november...

Did anyone watch the Utah game? Meyer is the REAL DEAL! Just imagine that offense with the talent level already in place at UF. It's downright scary! I do believe he will have some growing pains next year implementing a new offense and a new defensive scheme. I'm just not sure if Chris Leak thinks of himself as an option QB. If Leak buys into the system, Meyer could be looking at his first national championship.

I have to agree with GrassHopper here. Yes Utah looked good on offense and defense, but look who they were playing. A horrible 8-3 Pitt team that couldn't accomplish a successful kickoff.

You also have to think about that we have yet to see how good Meyer can recruit. He was as Bowling Green 2yrs and now at Utah 2yrs meaning the player that he won with aren't the ones he recruited.

Urban vs Steve...lol
That is too funny. I think Spurrier is a proven winner who has earned his respect. Urban is still tryin to get there. He might while he is in Florida but it won't come easy having to face the talent level each week. Ron Zook I honestly believe is a better fit for florida than Urban. We will see.

That's what I'm saying. Everyone is saying this and that about Spurrier at USC. Spurrier can talk the smack because he has backed it up a million times at different schools. LOL!
Flavor of the month? :)

It will be INTERESTING, indeed, to see how Meyer handles his first visit to Baton Rouge. Hopefully, it will be a night game and he will experience the full impact of playing in the SEC's scariest venue.

Yep! The true Death Valley. Not the second rate rip-off DV at Clemson. :D
