Do you think Buzz Peterson will ever get the Vols to be a serious consistent contender in the SEC??? I personally do not! In order for Tennessee to become an upper tier team in the SEC, they're going to have to find a coach who brings some winning tradition with him and can recruit. All that being said, if success means having the thugs and lack of discipline that we had a few years ago, then I'll be content with where they are now. Even as someone whose blood bleeds orange, it was difficult to root for that gang we had on the court that went to the elite 8!!

Tough loss for you tonight. Seemed like we got a few breaks in a close game that coulda gone either way.
Good luck until we meet again.

Buzz has a long way to go and a short time to get there. I better give props to Jerry Reed for part of that statement, because it sounds a lot like the theme song for Smokey and the Bandit. :p Buzz will not have to make the NCAA's to hang around next year, but it is the only way to secure his job. Buzz has to win back the support of the fans. He is only going to do that by winning games and have some upsets this year. As bad as the season has been up to the Vanderbilt shelling in Knoxville, Buzz has had two games in a row where the team played more like a team. If more close games end up like the final against USC, then he will be gone. He should not shoulder all of the blame for this season, but the buck stops with the head coach. I've liked enough of what I have seen in the two past games, that I believe that Buzz has a great chance to be back next year. Their are certain goals that much be reached and the team must show improvement as a team and a winning SEC record is a must. If the team can rise up and close games out, then he is doing the right job. If the Vols continue to try and hold on at the end of games and lose, the Vols will be looking for their 5 coach in 16 years. That is not the answer for the Vols bball program.
