LSU and Spurrier

A Gamecock buddy of mine told me he has heard a few rumors about LSU trying to buy out Spurriers contract if they lost Saban. I think it's only around $250,000. I usually post on another site but it is down right now so I thought I would come over here to see if anyone else has heard this. I told him I thought Spurrier had too much integrity to do that but I'm just trying to find out some info.

This is just a rumor brought into play by some disgruntled LSU fans, who said that he was having trouble recruiting (he just got here).

That's a rumor so some LSU fans will feel better about losing Saban. Whoever told you that gave you bad information.

Spurrier's contract was for 1.4 mill per year for 7 years plus incentives. The buyout clause cannot be used until the 2nd year and it is 250K per remaining year.
