Tell me what you think.

How many games will South Carolina win under Spurrier next season?

1. Less than 5
2. 5 games
3. 6 games
4. 7 games
5. More than 7 games

I merged your first thread with this one.

If you ever need a poll added, just PM me. It's better than creating a new thread. :)

I voted for 7 or 8 myself. I think hes going to raise the current talents level and utilize it alot better than old Holtz did plus with some key freshman additions they could be a real surprise team.

I think that if you count the bowl game we will probably win about 8 games next season.

I voted 7, and I think that's a safe bet (not less, but maybe more).

SS will better utilize the teams talent and believe we can expect at least 7 this year.....8 and above and SS can be elected governor....well, half the state would vote for him...GO COCKS!!

The Cocks can win seven or eight in 2005. It won't be easy.

Central Florida - W

at Georgia - W - I like our chances against the mutts because of the amount of the turn-over at key positions. Namely Greene and Pollack, aka Ace and Gary.

Alabama - ? - Bama is still not deep enough and we play them in the Cock Pit this year. (This one is the possible 8th win.)

Troy - W

at Auburn - L - I'm marking this one down as a loss even though the Tigers lose a lot with Campbell, Williams, and Brown leaving.

Kentucky - W

Vanderbilt - W

at Tennessee - L - Unless we can knock out Ainge and put a stop to those friggin tailbacks running roughshod over the DL we stand no chance Knoxville.

at Arkansas - W - No Matt Jones and they are still very young.

Florida - L

Clemson - W - We're due for a win against the necks.

I think 7 wins this season would be pretty respectable for Spurrier's first year...I can live with that....but I'd love to see even more wins. Just think, the last time we had a new coach, we only won 1 game the first year, and didn't win another game until 2 years later  So 7 wouldn't be that bad ;)

At this point I'd have to bump that number up to 9.

9 wins in the regular season... i really don't think that auburn and georgia are going to be as good as people think, they are losing A LOT and always seem to underachieve (excluding auburn this year). auburn was a better team last year and didnt do very well and UGA was supposed to be a NC title contender this year. there will be a lot of luck involved but i really do think that a better usc can beat a depleted au, uga, and maybe even a wishy-washy florida team.

9 wins is kinda high expectations especially for a new coach and staff.

Personally I think we will go 8-3 this coming season. Our losses include Tennessee, Auburn and Florida. :D

So you think that a bowl game will determine whether we go 8-4 on the season or 9-3? I would have to say I agree with that. Our recruiting class is looking better than I thought it would. As far as how quickly the new coaching staff can get things going should be a little clearer in a few months after the garnet/black game. At this point I would be excited to hear about practices, but I think that is from withdrawls of college football.

I will go ahead and predict a 9-3 record with a bowl (Cotton) win over Iowa State. :D

I agree with all but one thing. Spurrier getting beat by Fulmer would cause mass homicide in the locker room after the game. I think we have a good shot at that one. The others I agree. :D

Given how hard our schedule will be and not knowing who will be QB and/or go to reciever, I guess worst case

5-6
Best case
7-4
My guess would be 6 wins not counting a bowl game.
6 wins would be one heck of a good season looking at team and who we play, then throwing in learning new system

But goodness knows I would take more sho nuff

We Gamecocks ain't nuttin if not optimistic

DeLorean....I'd take a Cotton Bowl berth right now.....that would be really cool. I love that bowl game for some reason.

I voted 7, though. I'm probably voting with my heart, however, at this point. By August, I'll be able to give a more realistic prediction. Need to see how recruiting goes....and who we're lining up at various positions. There are a lot of unanswered questions right now.

Yes, but unfortunately it's not that simple. Our schedule will also be more difficult as we pick up a road game vs Auburn. Add that to whatever learning curve is involved with the changing to & learning of his new system & I think 6 wins is a very realistic prediction.

8 win vs next fall's schedule would be amazing.

I voted 6.... but that's just what I FEEL CONFIDENT that he'll win. SC could easily go 7/8 or more next season. You've also got to think that there are likely going to be a lot of young guys out on the field for SC next year, without the experience of some of the opposing players that they'll be facing. I think he'll be able to shape everyone up fairly quickly, but especially earlier in the season you may see a couple of losses that you weren't counting on.
