Orgeron, who will return to California on Monday to help USC prepare for the BCS title game, said he will not announce any hirings until his staff is complete. But three new faces had already moved into offices at the team's practice facility late Thursday and early Friday.

Former Indiana defensive coordinator Joe Cullen, former USC and Texas A&M special teams coordinator Shawn Slocum and Frank Williams, who had been a high school coach and athletic administrator in New Orleans, have joined the staff's recruiting efforts the last two days

Orgeron hinted Friday that defensive backs coach Jay Hopson, tight ends coach Matt Luke and director of football operations Steve Cheatham will likely be retained from former coach David Cutcliffe's staff. Orgeron applauded their efforts this month.

That's one thing that I hate and Coach Weis is doing the same thing. You are now an employee of the University of Mississippi. Why are you still working for USC? BCS bowl game or not, your loyalty is now at MS.

As for Weis, where is your loyalty? Is it ND or New England?

I don't like it when a coach takes a job, but puts it on the backburner. That's just one of my pet-peeves.

Like I said, he is on the Mississippi payroll so he should be out there recruiting for Ole Miss or doing something for them.

running back's coach--

Wilson interviewed for the position at Ole Miss on Thursday, said Terrance Davis, his assistant in the Orleans Parish athletic department. Wilson, dressed in Ole Miss attire, was recruiting local players on Friday during a practice for the Orleans Parish East-West All-Star game at O. Perry Walker High School.

"It's a done deal," said O. Perry Walker defensive coordinator Byron Wilson, who is Wilson's uncle. "He's elated about it. He's on the trail recruiting in this area."

Wilson coached at O. Perry Walker from 1999-2002. The Chargers won or shared district championships in his final two seasons. The Chargers advanced to the Class 4A state championship game in Wilson's final season in 2002. That season the team made its only state championship game appearance and finished 13-2.

Wilson was hired as Orleans Parish athletic director in 2003.

Byron Wilson said Frank Wilson will do a great job of recruiting in the New Orleans area and expects him to try to get former O. Perry Walker players Burnell Wallace (receiver), Dennis Christopher (defensive back) and Milton Collins (receiver) to play for Ole Miss.

Wilson was a finalist to join the staff of LSU coach Nick Saban in 2003.

"It's just a testimony to what he put together at O. Perry Walker," Byron Wilson said. "I think he's going to have the upper hand on a lot of people in this area (in recruiting)."

New Orleans Public School System spokesperson Tia Alexander said: "This sounds like a great opportunity. We wish him well."

I think this will be the beginning of a bright future in Oxford. Boone and Khayat made an excellent hire. Coach O brings alot of fire and passion to Oxford. Don't even get me started about recruiting! I have also heard that he is already making contact with Brent Shaeffer! The glory days will soon be back REBELS! Hotty Toddy!
