From what I am hearing, Spurrier is turning heads from those Lou couldn't touch. Is this just a buzz or does anyone else think Spurrier is already surpassing Lou's Impact?

t reputation means everything- i would like to know how many former players of sos' that have gone to the pros. thats what the recruits look at. college is just a stepping stone for your blue chippers and if they can play for a coach that can showcase their talents and get them noticed thats where they will go

J.C. Neal is a WR recruit that was quoted (Greenville News) as saying he wasn't considering USC before because all they ran was a QB Draw. When I read that, I almost spit my Mountain Dew all over my monitors.

Now that Mr. Spurrier has been hired, USC is one of his Top-3.

I think SS will bring much more offensive weapons to USC. The offense he runs is fun to watch and play in. I really don't think that the recruits he brings in will have that much of an impact. I mean ofcourse he needs good athletes, but look what he did with Danny Wuerffel. Danny had the arm strength of a 10 yr old but yet he was able to win the heisman. SS will use the talent he has to find a way to win. His biggest impact will be noticed next September. I can't wait. We just might be singing "It's great to be a Carolina Gamecock".

Yeah I thinik Spurriers impact is being seen right off the bat. Alot of kids wouldnt have looked twice at SC cuz of the style of offense they ran. Now recruits see SS there and know hes going to run an exciting offense and we have all seen what he has done at Florida with just great athletes. They have a better chance of success with his style offense over Holtzs and right there is what is gettin them alot of recruits they otherwise wouldnt have had a shot at.

I never thought we could do better than Lou Holtz - Spurrier appears early on to re-shuffle the deck USC was used to for the last few years and actually improve on the game.

What I think is funny is that now the latest rumor which I can assure you I haven't heard a thing is that, Mr. Spurrier is thinking about leaving and going to Auburn or LSU because recruiting is difficult. Mr. Spurrier has more talent on-hand now than his first year at Florida.

I never understood why a good wideout like Noah Whiteside would want to come to SC and play for Lou'zer Holtz. All of the wide receivers ended up being blockers for the RB's and QB's under Lou's system.

Now that has changed. Now, WR's will get to be WR's. Go Spurrier and Go Gamecocks!!

LS who? & Auburn? NOT A CHANCE IN H**L !! [He hates them both]
Hey guys, I am ALUM of Fla.[Living in S.C.] and ASSURE YOU that Steve is in place for a long haul.
He WILL WIN AT S.C. and bury the CHICKEN CURSE!

Don't expect 10-1, or even 9-2 in 05, MAYBE 7-4, OR 8-3 at best for the first year. EXPECT the BCS in 3-5 years. [Tougher schedule in 05 than 04].

SOS is worth 2 1/2 points against ANY TEAM just because he is standing on the sidelines. After all it's the system that he uses, and YES the better athletes will listen in time. Be patient and watch !
S.C. has a very good defensive base [thanks you LOU] and this allows SOS to concentrate on his specialty, WR’s and an UN-known QB that will do as he says.
You can expect 3-5 QB’s to play and the best one-week will be in the doghouse for 3-4 weeks.
AS I have witnessed, SOS expects/demands perfection from an average QB, He can and will make a winner out of him in the long run.
What you can expect is to see the ORANGE/ORANGE/ORANGE season ending schedule to get an off week in the mix as soon as possible, It will happen !

SOS is a great hire at S.C. but he isn’t GOD  YET!

Like I said, it's a rumor that the LSU people are spreading to make them feel better about themselves. I can assure you this is only a rumor and there is not one iota of truth to it.

The fact of the matter is Mr. Spurrier wanted this job and he got it. I agree with the other poster that said "Spurrier's not going anywhere."

[COLOR=Red]I sure hope there is not truth to the rumor. That would be incredibly heartbreaking to have Spurrier and then lose him.

I can assure you there is no truth to it. Let's just say that Mr. Spurrier looks down on LSU. :p
