USC WR Troy Williamson according to my sources has decided to indeed, forgo his senior year and enter this years NFL draft.

He is scheduled to meet with and be represented by David Canter.

I just wanna wish Troy the best of luck, good fortune and thanks for the memories. :) :(

I Think He Is Making A Mistake! He Could Benefit From One More Year. I Don't Think He Wil Be A First Rounder. But Good Luck Troy

Please do NOT call any of our players 'gangsters', just makes you look like an idiot. Also, if i was 1st or 2nd rounder (which he will be) i would go for the guaranteed money also.

well taking the money early when you could have gone higher the next year is stupid, Troy was my fav. player for 3 years but he lost all my respect for him. The sad part is that, yes, he'll make a couple hundred thousand but in 6 or 7 years he'll probably be back in the ghetto...

Grasshopper,

That's a hasty generalization though. How do you know that Troy stole anything? That's like saying, all people that live in Texas is white trash. Do you see what I'm getting at?

Did yall know that Troy's Mom is a single parent with like 6 kids and is having a hard time making ends meet. Maybe, just maybe yall could cut him some slack. I don't think he's doing this for him. I think he's doing it for his family.

Family first, friends second.

Ya'll Are Turning A Little Fun Humor Into Something Bigger. Of Course I Don't Know Troy Stole Anything. I Hope I Never Know Who Did It. I Don't Care Who Started The Fight. When You Are Part Of A Team One Bad Apple Can Ruin The Whole Bunch.i Hope Troy Has A Prosporus Career In The Nfl. It Benefits The Universtiy If He Does. It Helps Recruiting And It Helps Motivate The Players He Left Behind. Don't Get Me Wrong I Am Proud Of Him.my Point With Troy Is He Did'nt Become The Reciever He Was This Year Until This Year. He Could Benefit From Another Year. If I Am Not Mistaken He Did'nt Play Rec. In High School.

Oh I agree. In my humble opinion, he should stay another year to get the added experience. It will pay dividends in the long run. Sometimes, things happen and you have to make sacrifices. I called a family friend earlier today that is involved with the NFL. He stated that while most NFL owners will draft a kid that only had 3 years experience, they actually don't approve of it. That last year is invaluable as in experience.

As for Troy, he stated that he had watched tape on him and if he's available, they will consider signing him.

I'm am sick of kids taking the "bling bling" instead of loyalty, I could see if you are gonna be a top 5 pick, but other than that it's just stupid. I'm sick of the stupid rap culture and it's influence on these kids, but that's fine, troy will learn the hard way when in 11 years (without a college education) the only money he can make is a janitor and spending the day signing autographs for 75 dollars at a sports store in Columbia....

Well he's not going to get a lot of "bling bling" because Mel Kiper has him projected as a middle of the road 2nd or early 3rd rounder.

I don't care and I won't wish him well, he's making a mistake and I hope he pays for it later, but I am a gamecock fan, and maybe 10 years down the road I'll hire him and make him head janitor, that way I'm helping out a fellow gamecock...

Granted I don't agree with your assessment, but I respect your opinion. Yes it is a mistake to leave school early, I for one am against it. He could elevate his draft status by staying one more year. What we don't understand is that Troy has to do what he feels is right for himself. He may not be making the right choice, but it's still his choice. As for me, I wish he would reconsider. Not because of my own selfish ways, but because it would help him in the long run. Whatever he decides, I will stand by him on his decision and wish him the best. The NFL is a totally different beast. He will need to bring his A++ game to succeed. Good luck Troy and godspeed.

His official decision is supposed to come Sunday. All my sources are telling me pretty much it's a done deal.

Do you believe me now RW? LOL! :)

I told ya, I have an inside track in college football.

Look for Bo Pelini to be announced as the DC on Jan. 7th.

Because Mr. Pelini has expressed that he doesn't want ANY distractions for the upcoming Orange Bowl. Now with all of these rumors, they can change. As far as I've been told, this is a done deal between Spurrier/USC/Pelini.

According to my sources now. David Canter is trying to convince Troy Williamson to stay his senior season. Mr. Canter was telling him that right now, he's looking at a low 2nd round pick and just the extra year, it could take him as high a middle of the 1st round.

He even specified that he WOULD have a great season under Spurrier and knows that Spurrier has a reputation for developing prime WR's. Troy is now discussing the details with his family and as of now, he may come back to USC for his senior season.

And if he does come back I suppose the fans that were on this forum wishing the man bad things in the future will look at him as a great human being who deserves all the best in life. Funny how quickly people change their mind when things are going their way. Do any of you USC fans remember that his father whom he was very close to died this past year. The 2 supportive males in that family aren't with their family now and they are going through tough times. You haven't lived his life so how can you know what's best for it? I wish him all the best in whatever he does.

OFFICIAL UPDATE:

Troy Williamson and his brother has officially left town to consider his options in peace. His family wants him to stay in school. It's Troy that wants to go on and enter the draft so he can help his mother/family with expenses.

Hey its a tough world out there and sometimes you gotta do things that you dont. Again Im all for kids gettin their degrees and finishing school but there are times where you have to work to support ya family and if he can "work" by playing pro ball then thats what he has to do. Just because he goes pro doesnt mean he cant return to college in the off season like alot of other athletes and complete his studies and get a degree.

UPDATE:

According to what I have been told, WR Troy Williamson will be staying for his senior season. From what I understand, he was banking on at least a second round pick and currently the NFL Advisory Board has him in the early 4th round. Expect an announcement from Troy within this week.

Thanks, great news for Carolina, and good news for Troy, he's 1 year from an HRTM degree and God forbid something happen to him he'll have that to fall back on and won't end up as a Janitor, he can have a real job and make a real living. I hope he does well in school as well as on the field, both are important, the former being significantly more....

This is GREAT news for USC and bad news for the rest of the SEC. Heh heh!

Now if we get Beecher to commit. Can you imagine him throwing the ball to Williamson? WHOA!

This is FAN-tastic news, guys!!! What we need now is a strong support group of incoming receivers (don't forget Sidney Rice) AND a quarterback with an ACCURATE arm (not one who consistently underthrows receivers on "gimme" passes in the flat---have you ever seen the likes of such?---JEEZ!).

I can hardly wait to see what happens in the spring, to see what ours players can do with Spurrier's offense.

Opinions?........Del.....anyone........?

Well...I very excited about this Beecher kid. He's supposed to be the real deal and is HIGHLY intelligent. This kid scored like a 1400 on his SAT and has a 4.3 GPA taking college level courses.

he hasn't committed, but SOS went to his house tonight and Beecher said that he would either committ to SC this week or on his visit to us. He told SOS that we had all but wrapped up his committment. I heard this on SportsTalk with Phil Kornblut tonight, apprently Korn had called him immediately after SOS left, good news for us definately....
