View Full Version : Did you see that?
http://www.sectalk.com/boards/images/logos/Kentucky2.gifTennessee barely squeaks by the Kentucky Wildcats 37-31.
No this isn't April Fools Day. Kentucky went into Neyland Stadium ready to play and almost came away with a victory over the Vols. Could this be a sign of things to come? I highly doubt it, but you have to give credit where credit is due. Coach Brooks had his team prepared and executed his gameplan perfectly. He just came up a little short. Tennessee on the other hand, has not played this poorly in ages. Last weeks game against Vanderbilt was also a squeaker. The first time you squeak by is luck, the second is evidence. Make no mistake, this wasn't a fluke or luck. Kentucky played this game with their heart, not their muscles.
Being a highly touted recruit, UK QB Shane Boyd has finally shown the world a glimpse of what he can do with his abilities. If he would have stepped his game up like that for every game, Kentucky would have given the rest of the SEC a few hiccups. Kudos to Kentucky and Coach Brooks. This was an letdown loss for Kentucky and a exciting win for Tennessee. With this win, Auburn will need to make a very strong showing in the SECCG to be able to contend for the National Championship.

Kentucky played their hearts out. They are the least talented SEC team I have seen in quite a while, but they played with guts today. UT's play the last couple of weeks probably locks AU out of the title game unless OU or USC loses. That (among other things) just shows how pathetic the BCS system is when Vandy and Kentucky playing tough, but losing, could have an impact on who plays for the national title.

I can't help but laugh because it's the truth. Honestly, I like the BCS. Hold on, let me rephrase that. I liked the OLD BCS formula. The one that had MOV, SOS, QW, etc, etc. I believe they should bring the old BCS formula back and add the BCS+1 system to it and I think that would be the next best thing to a playoff.

Yeah, It Was Bitter Loss Today, But The Cats Played Hard, I Just Feel Bad For The Seniors.
Alot Of People Here Want Coach Brooks Out, But I Think He Is Doing A Pretty Good Job. Another Coaching Change Would Set Us Back A Few More Years.
We Have Some Talented Freshmen And Sophmores Who Have Played A Lot This Year. I Hear That Recruiting Is Going Well Too.
Joker Phillips Should Be Our Next Offensive Coordinator.
With Uk Basketball, Alot Of Fans Would Be Happy With A 7-4, Or 6-5 Season Or A Better One Every Now And Then, But Its Gonna Be Hard In This Killer Football Conference.
Go Cats!!!!

Catfan to be completely honest. I do think you should throw Mr. Brooks out on his butt. I didn't think he was a good hire to begin with. It's like I said in my post titled: "Brooks Gone". "Kentucky needs to get a big name proven coach to come there." Coach Brooks was BARELY above .500 when he took the job. You need to get a Lou Holtz type guy that can recruit and build a solid foundation for his successor to build on. Kinda like what USC did. The hiring of Holtz was something that USC needed. We needed someone to build the program back up brick by brick and because of that, Mr. Spurrier was interested in taking over and didn't have to be sold on it.
BTW: It's not like Kentucky doesn't have a winning tradition.
