Are any other Vol fans as fed up with Sanders' offense as I am? This is going on 3 years now that Tennessee has not had an identity offensively. Going into the Auburn game, I was really optimistic with what I had seen. We were leading the conference in rushing (granted against inferior competition), and finally looked like Tennessee football again. So, what do we do against Auburn? First 3 plays...pass, pass, pass!! It's as if the coaching staff had already conceded that Auburn was going to shut down the run and were going to have to win by the pass. That's just poor coaching and over-coaching if you ask me. If you go into any game with the mindset that you won't be able to do what you do best, well then you've already lost before the game even starts. Tennesse has and will always (under Fulmer) be predicated by the run. With our offensive line and stable of running backs, you have GOT to run until the opposition takes it away. AND you have got to BELIEVE that you can run the ball. They just never really tried against Auburn. They played right into Auburn's hands and this seems to be an all to familiar pattern in big games. With the inexperience at QB and a weak defense, you have GOT to play ball control and keep your offense on the field against good competition. This week we have Georgia who in my opinion is playing on a different level than anyone else right now. But Sanders, PLEASE listen to me. Don't get cute!!! Run the freaking football!! Georgia may put 8 at the line, but you still HAVE to try. That's our only chance this week!! If we get destroyed this week and have more passing attempts than running attempts, then I hope that Sanders will be feeling the pressure. I realize that and it has been well reported that Sanders and Fulmer don't always see eye to eye in offensive philosophy. Well, we are looking at our third straight Peach Bowl and that's unacceptable. It's time for something to change!!
8-3 = mediocrity!!
P.S. GO ASTROS!!!

I agree with you. 2 young qb's that need a little playing time before they start airing it out and a running game that is as good as any in the country. Why would you not play the ground game. Makes no sense to me. Go Dawgs

Question, rebeldude...being an Ole Miss fan, how is Tennessee your hated team? Shouldn't it be LSU or Miss St or Alabama?? Just curious!!

The Auburn D really confused the crap out of Ainge. They lined up like they were blitzing, then Ainge would get an audible from the sidelines to cover the blitz, then Auburn would switch just before they snapped the ball. Tennessee was out-coached, plain and simple... on both sides of the ball

Tennessee being my most hated stems from family fueds as a childl. I got so sick of hearing about Tennessee from my Uncle and cousins. I don't take Miss st too seriously and I kind of like LSU, Go figure.

Exactly, but that's where I take issue. You KNEW that Auburn would try to do that and you KNOW that Georgia's going to do the same. Since the kids don't have enough experience to adjust, then keep it simple. Have a conservative game plan, give the kids 2 or 3 plays to audible into, and let them play. Sure they're going to make mistakes, but let THEM make mistakes. Frankly, it's like watching a pee-wee football game coming to the line and then checking with "coach" to see what to do. It's really embarrassing and frankly I would think demoralizing to the kids' psychy. Keep it simple and do what you do best. If the opponent beats you, fine! But at least have some faith in your kids to make some decisions and make plays. TOO MUCH COACHING!!
