The Ole Miss Rebels will have their hands full on Saturday when they come into Williams Bryce Stadium for their showdown with the USC Gamecocks. The Gamecocks are coming off a clean-cut win against Alabama in Tuscaloosa. USC and Ole Miss will meet for the 13th time this Saturday at 1pm EST. The rebels currently lead the series at 7-5-0 and that record will change. Here's my take on the game:

USC has the advantage in this match-up. With the sloppy play of Mississippi's QB's Spurlock and Flatt, they are really going to have to grow up in less than 60 mins. Otherwise they are going to look just like Guillon & Pennington of Alabama. (2 INT's each) USC's defense has been absolutely amazing. They have stopped everyone that has crossed their path and I honestly see no reason why they cannot shut down the Ole Miss offense. Also, given the lack of experience for both QB's, (Spurlock & Flatt) I expect USC's Fred Bennett and Ko Simpson to have a big game.

I predict that Ole Miss will do their very best, but it won't be enough. The Ole Miss team is struggling and it will continue to struggle after Saturday. The Gamecocks are going to win and they are going to win big.

USC 35
Ole Miss 3

This is the same team that had to win at home in overtime with Vandy in town. Ole Miss had trouble stopping Vandy's option game and Cuttler had a good game. Ole Miss does have some horses on the line but long drives will wilt the Defense. There is also the fact we lost by just 3 and played like a determined team for less than 1/2 the game. Eli is not there so the passing game lacks the zip of last year. Ole Miss does have something to prove after eking out a win last week, so I expect it to be a good game.

Cocks should win this homecoming. 28-14.

I don't think we should get too confident but we should win....

I am not trying to or want to be over confident. I am just looking at what I have seen. Ole Miss has some great talent and they do not give up. I do not think they have not been able to get all of the pieces flowing together. This will not be an easy game by any stretch of the imagination. This will be a tough, hard hitting game from both sides. The Rebels did ring up Cuttler's number a couple of times. I expect Ole Miss to come in to WB wanting to prove they are a better team than they have shown.

OK I was half right USC - 28. I did have Ole Miss 14 JUST NOT IN THE FIRST QUARTER.

Ole Miss did have something to prove and whipped us on both sides of the ball most of the game. USC had it's chance and did not complete the assignment. Good win for Ole MIss, bad loss for USC.
