University of Tennessee football coach Phillip Fulmer has told a federal judge that he can't find documents subpoenaed by attorneys for former University of Alabama booster Logan Young.
According to documents in U.S. District Court for western Tennessee, Fulmer's attorneys said "a diligent search has been made for any items responsive to such subpoena and no such items have been presently identified or located."

Phat Phil is a backstabber who stole the job the Johnny Majors and has only gone downhill ever since.
He underachieves almost every season with the best talent in the nation.
What a joke!

Forgive me, I am not adequately informed. What exactly are the plaintiffs in the lawsuit alleging? I have read a few things on ESPN, and they made it seem as if Fulmer was asked by the NCAA to give them information. I'm no fan of Fulmer, just confused.....

Somehow, Phil lost the tape recordings of his testimony to the NCAA regarding Alabama's recruiting violations.
In all honesty it isn't a surprizing story that SEC coaches report recruiting violations to the NCAA. The more damaging story is the NCAA dropping their investigation into UT grade fixing immediately after Fulmer's testimony.

That does seem suspicious. Wouldn't the NCAA be responsible for the tapes, anyway?

PLEASE explain to me how Fulmer "stole" the job from Johnny Majors.....the guy had a heart attack, and was not the same afterwards....the team lost three games in a row and Majors was fired by the UT athletic director. So we are to assume that Fulmer had some conspiracy theory to give Majors a litltle to much gravy with his biscuit in forebeleif that he could take Majors' job? Get a grip.
Secondly, lets talk about "underachievering". Since Fulmer has taken the job, he has taken the vols to a bowl game 12 out of 13 years and won a National Title. He leads all active coaches with at least 5 years at the job in total wins. I guess if you dont win the NC every damn year, then you are a underacheiver? Guess that would make the tide an underacheiving team since, lets see, 1992? And the gamecocks? NC? Never. Ever. Not once. SEC champs? Nope. Nada. Nothing. Ole Miss? Do I even need to go there?
You can call the guy a rat all you want, but if any other coach in the NCAA knew of a team breaking the rules they would report it too. Not doing so is a total lack of intergrity. Bama is just pissed cause they cheated and got caught. Get over it.
So, Bama, Ole Miss and SC, go ahead and start making your list of excuses now, so when UT thumps your beloved teams, you wll be ready.
The only problem I have with it is the fact that the NCAA turned a "blind" eye to Tennessee's infractions in exchange for him revealing info concerning Alabama. I've said it once and I'll say it again: "If Alabama would quit breaking the rules, none of this would have happened."

There WAS an investigation into the claims agaisnt UT. Nothing found.

It is a little funny that they happened to coincede with each other though. At the same time, someone reported a possible recruiting violation concerning the former USC TB Derek Watson. (Nothing was found)
See, Fulmer is a good coach, don't get me wrong. He has just earned the reputation as a snitch with some people.

118-31. Fulmers record since taking the job. WHAT an underachiever.
bamas record since fulmers first year..... 89-58
sc's record....60-76
ole miss.....84-57
I guess we see who the real underachievers are in the last 12 years.

I agree with you on that part USA. He is farrrrrrr from a underachiever. He wins consistantly. Isn't that the most important part?

this really isnt directed towards you even though i took a shot at SC.......you actually have a brain.

I know and no offense taken. Look at the facts, Mr. Fulmer's record speaks for itself. I will NOT say that Fulmer hasn't accomplished anything. He has won one more NC than most coaches dream about and his personal win/loss record is outstanding. Granted, there is always room for improvement, but as the saying goes: "Don't fix it, if it isn't broken.

USAvolfan, Tennessee won't thump to many teams this year. For the second year in a row the Vols are highly over rated.

I agree, rebeldude, we are overrated because of the hype of our freshmen qb's. I am guilty of giving them to much credit to early in the year.......the stumbled bad agaisnt a very good auburn team, but they will get back up for georgia. we wont win, but i think we fair much better this week. I dont think we were over-rated last year. I pawn off the losses to a ton of injuries and a shithead for a offensive coordinator.
i hope for a respectable year and look forward to what should be a great next 2-3 years. we have a load of young talent and the #2 RB in the country coming to us next year.

Let's all be straight and honest about this issue. The NCAA has about as much desire to enforce "the rules" as Bush has to properly annunciate the word "nuclear". You're fooling yourself if you think for a moment that the NCAA couldn't walk into ANY campus of ANY major University and not find a boat load of rules infractions. Think about it...where is the incentive in enforcing these rules? College football generates hundreds of millions of dollars a year for the NCAA. These people aren't stupid. They're not going to cut off their nose to spite their face. But just like everything else in this goofy society we live in, they have to make an example "occasionally" to make everyone feel better and help trick all of the simple minded idiots into believing that there is a fair and level playing field in college athletics. I'm sorry Bama fan because it's not like you guys are guilty of anything that doesn't happen on any other SEC campus, but shut up already!! Just because you were stupid enough to get caught...sucks to be you!! To call out Fulmer, though, is just ignorant. If you honestly believe that any other coach wouldn't front out somebody else to save their own programs' ass, then you are stupid. I'm not saying that it's right, but integrity doesn't mean jack in the NCAA. Just like everything else in this world, money rules!

I thought I would really get a bashing saying the Vols were over rated for the past two years (maybe no one read my post) :D I believe you are right. the Vols will be a very good team as soon as the QB's get a little game experience. As far as the running game, well the Vols always have great running backs. You don't like your offensive coordinator apparantley, would you like to have Cutcliffe back? The Vols did stumble against Auburn but they will fall to Georgia IMO. Good Luck! By the way your a Vols fan in Texas why is this? Isn't there something in Texas called Longhorns.

I'll answer this one. Hell yes I for one would love to have Cutcliffe back. Tennessee has not had an offensive identity since he left! As for your comments about Tennessee being over-rated, Vol fans simply and honestly can't refute that this year. A good showing today vs. Georgia?? Then I'll refute!! I too am in Texas, but luckily I was taught well...There is only one REAL UT, and that is in Knoxville!! Have a great day!! GO VOLS!!!!!
