Well said, come on, M$U buys players - not Bama... :)
Awwwwwwww c'mon Chris! Alabama is one of the biggest violators in NCAA history. They have a knack for breaking the rules. Alabama fans just need to understand the olddddd saying: "You do the crime, you gotta do the time." On a logical note, when is Alabama going to get the message? They almost got a LIFETIME football ban for the last list of infractions.

What does MSU have to do with what OxfordRebel said??? I would understand if you made that comment towards Ole Miss..... And Deloreanfan said the same thing in a previous post! But seriously, who doesn't think that all these "blue chippers" aren't getting a little something under the table??
Alabama just needs to stop breaking the rules!!! Point made.

"They have a knack for breaking the rules."
That's the only reason Alabama is not the best college football team ever, and the fact that they have lost to my hogs two years in a row.

Well I think you are all crazy if you dont think other schools have done the same thing Alabama has. Alabama was just caught and so will these other schools in time... just look at Ohio State! Its ok you can harbor on a few mistakes Alabama has made but the fact remains no other school in the SEC even comes close to what we have acomplished, Tennessee would be the only school that I would even bother to mention in any kinda arguement about accomplishments in the SEC.

In the words of my fellow Gamecocks "wait till next year" , and then the year after and the year after, we will have 12 NCs soon. Ok maybe not, but we will have 1 pretty soon, then you watch we will talk about it for years and years to come and reminsce(however you spell that fancy word for remembering) about how great our Ol Ball Coach was and how nobody will ever be as great.... wait a minute, are we going to turn into Klempsun fans?

You are cracking me up, CockyTatGuy. Well, maybe all of us Gamecock fans can say "Next Year is Finally Here" soon like we did in 1984...ahhh, those were the days....

Reminds of my favorite Klempsun joke. How many Klempsun fans does it take to change a light bulb? 4, 1 to change the light bulb and 3 to talk about what a good job the old one did.

Alabama won 6 of our national championships under Coach Bear Bryant. R and of u saying that The greatest coach around was guilty of infractions? Cause if u r, u need to think again! Alabama is and always will be THE PREMIER college football program in the SEC! It will be a cold day in he!! before there is another program that will EVER come close to what Bama has accomplished. And just wait, we are on the rise!

LOL well my friend history is part of what makes the present and the future and the future for Alabama football looks bright and looks to be back on track. 2005 will definatly be a decisive year and we will finally see just how good Mike Shula can be as a head coach and what he can do with talent.

Actually, Bear Bryant was found to have committed one (1) infraction.
According to the NCAA, he was found to be guilty of Illegal Recruiting on Jan 5th 1964

What have you done for me late--ly?????
Was it in 2004?
2004: 6-6 (3-5 SEC)
Oct. 2, 2004 South Carolina (ESPN2) L 20-3
Maybe it was 2003.....
2003: 4-9 (2-6 SEC)
2002: 10-3
2001: 7-5
2000: 3-8
1999: 10-3
1998: 7-5
1997: 4-7
Ohhhhhhhh, I see why y'all are cocky going into this season. It must be because over the past 7 years y'all have developed a trend of sucking one year (1997, 2000 and 2003), followed it up by being average (1998, 2001 and 2004) and followed that up by having a great team (1999 and 2002).... yeah, if the trend continues for the 3rd consecutive time, then this is y'alls year........
Too bad we can count on 2006 being another 3-8 or 4-7 type season....

But.... at schools with tradition/history, players will continue to sign on regardless of what shape the program is currently in. Recruits know that a lot of money/effort is put into restoring the football program, and many want to hopefully be a part of the "turn around" of a once-top program in the SEC.
As long as recruiting stays healty and the program stays out of trouble, Bama will eventually turn back into a good program. Sure, it might not EVER be the "powerhouse" it once was under Bryant, but it will still turn back into a tough competitor in the SEC. In the years that you listed, the program went through a lot of coaching changes, NCAA sanction periods, and other internal problems. Did the "high ups" at Bama bring a lot of that on themselves? Sure they did.... but the actions have been taken to make sure that those mistakes aren't repeated.

OMG I been sick for a while now and havent been able to come around much but did I start the longest friggin thread in SECTalk history or what?
Could someone please point me to where theres proof of this so called infraction that The Bear committed? That wouldnt be the same scandal that the Saturday Evening Post broke back in the day that ended up to be a hoax and single handedly turned The Saturday Evening Post into the Dr.'s office dust collector that it is today? That trial was hilarious......the Bears defense destroyed the allegations and The Post along with it. With that being said we won 6 Titles under Bryant.....and there was no straighter arrow than the Bear. Besides show me a College team that doesnt pay for their Blue Chips and Ill show you a college team with no Blue Chips!
BTW Congrats to my Bud Greg on winning both Pick Em National Titles..... Chalk another couple up for Alabama!

Health Problems bro, spent a good bit of time hospitalized, recovering nicely now though......glad you found a home here at SECTalk wish i had been able to make it here during the season. Hey are they gonna have the Mullet Toss this year? I havent heard much but people saying it may not happen due to storm damage.

Hey man , sorry to hear about ya health probs I hope ya are on the road to recovery. I dont really hang out here on the site much anymore, but I post from time to time still just when I feel I have something to say. I dunno about the mullet toss since the hurricane and all. I went down to Mobile last weekend for Mardi Gras and to be honest you couldnt really tell a hurricane came through not to long ago. Sayin that tho Gulf shores and that area is the ones that took the hit pretty bad but I dunno. We are talkin about headin to Nashville instea of mullet toss this year but Ill let that be up to Candy and Carrie and what they wanna do. Anyways its good to see and hear from ya bro , Im lookin fwd to a great football season next year and being in Ttown for alot more games. Talk to ya soon man.

shoulda , woulda , coulda just might be the theme for EllisU (my version of cajun talk )hehe. lookin forward to a great season of SEC football and im expecting a very competitive ( as always ) season with Alabama leadin the way out of the west and either Florida or Tennessee ( I had picked SC first a few months ago but after rethinkin Im going to put them a strong 3rd) coming out of the East. I believe Alabama will be the Auburn of the 2005 season..... I could be wrong but hey thats why they play the game.

Ah come on bud. As much as I pray and want what you said to come true we just have to be realistic. I think we will just be happy if Brodie just stays healthy. Lets take one step at a time and hope someone upstairs is on our side. Doing what Auburn did last year is definetly going to be a long shot but hey, if they can do it I guess we can too. Haha, ROLL TIDE
