http://www.sectalk.com/images/ass.jpgOK. I am obviosly not a "Writer", even though I will be taking English Comp 101 this summer, but I own the site and decided to create a place where I can rant about idiots like Eli Manning...
Eli Manning should be a good NFL quarterback, this we know. The problem is he has already tarnished his reputation with his "If I don't get my way, I will take my ball and go home" attitude. Is this attitude good? Nope. The long term ramification of this little incindent will make the modern NFL even uglier than Free Agency already has it. Even though Elway already pulled a similar stunt, What about Bartkowski in 1976, Bradshaw in 1970, and even more recently PEYTON in 1998? Peyton turned a crappy team into a playoff team, even though he and his team stumble every time... Bradshaw becomes Superbowl MVP eight years after he was drafted. Anyhow, they went to the teams that had the right to draft them. Did they cry? I don't really remember personally, but they took the cards they were dealt and went on to being good quarterbacks for at the time, crappy teams.
Come'on Eli, San Diego sucks, but how bad would it be to sign a 1-2 year contract and make a ton of money, then go somewhere else as a free agent. I know that the Chargers want to lose so they can move, but if they want to lose, who better to start at QB, a young in-expeirenced Eli? Get some games under the belt and move on...
Eli is no better of a person that Terrell Owens now! BTW - Terrell, how bad would it be in Baltimore for 1 year? Yes, Terrell is a SUPERB WR, but come on people.... The Ravens should have done to Terrell what Gruden did to Keyshawns punk ass!
- End Rant

I totally agree. It seems like Eli is really being the "baby" brother.
It's too bad, but I think I've mentioned before that it was all Archie's doing. He seems like the puppetmaster of all of this. Also makes me wonder if he made Eli go to Ole Miss...

I agree 110% Chris. His daddy Archie went running off at the mouth putting SD down and who's in worse shape?
It reminds me when the NFL Draft was on, Chris Berman & Mel Kiper Jr. both said that he would fit in better at San Diego than the Giants. Now look at him!
Personally, I think in due time, he will be a great QB. He's just going through the typical growing pains.

I think he would have been better off at SD also cuz in NY the expectations and pressure for him to win right now seem to be to much for him. Also include the fact that his brother is going crazy breaking records left and right this season and the fact everyone is going to compare the two. Eli is a good quarterback but he would have benefitted from an easier transition to the pros. Let him ride this season out then go into trainin camp as the #1 qb and lets see what he can do next year then that will be the tail of the tape. I do think he was being a bit childish by stating he wouldnt play for SD. I personally would play for even the Dolphins if they would offer me a butt load of money lol. YOu can always play out ya contract then choose to where you wanna go when you become a proven player. Yanno Eli wasnt the first to do something like that tho .. I seem to recall a rookie from Stanford a few years ago being just as pigheaded... His name was John Elway.

I agree Hardie! If the Dolphins wanted me to play, I would be there before the ink could dry on my contract. :p
Even though I think Eli will do fine in a few years, I do take a little pleasure seeing him getting his azz kicked just for the way him/Dad treated San Diego. They acted like SD was the plague. I think it's funny that they talked sooo much smack about SD and how the NYG were a superior team, and now SD is going to the playoffs. How do ya like that? :p
Hey Chris,
By reading your so called "Rant", I formed the opinion that you do not like Keyshawn Johnson very much. Is that true???? ((Snickering))

Since he prolly wont go to my favorite team Green Bay i hope he goes to either Baltimore or Carolina.....more likely that he will go to Carolina though....but i also hear that the Texans were really interested in taking him....and i think they pick one ahead of Carolina

My thoughts exactly Chris. I did think it was pretty funny that the team Eli shunned won 6 more games than the one he ended up with, scored about 150 more points and all with a QB most thought was going to end up a journeyman backup for the rest of his career.
I know it's early in his career & all but Eli isn't going to be able to hold Peyton's luggage when all is said & done.

JB..you & baller better hope Minnesota doesn't make a drastic change and actually do something smart with their draft pick & take Williamson. Can you imagine Daunte chuckin' deep go-routes to TW in the Minny-dome?
Al Harris and company would have their hands on their hips walkin' back toward the huddle with that "How'd they do THAT?" look on their faces like they did everytime they played against Randy Moss...haha!
*note: No, I am not comparing Troy Williamson to Randy Moss, so don't go there lol.

My boy Jake Delhomme needs some weapons to help him out. I hope the Panthers focus on O-line, RB, and reciever in today's draft. They have the D, I hope they'll draft smart today and tommorrow.

Well since Ive already brought one old thread back, why dont I bring this one back as well since the draft is today it should be perfect....FANS, let loose...haha...
Well baller Im glad you brought this old one back, now all these that were bashing Eli and Archie can see how wrong they were, Eli and Condon (not Archie) made the right choice and look at him now. He is a star in NY right now and he'll be a star in the NFL, just like big brother. He was even telling Coughlin what plays to run and he was a rookie. As far as pressure in NY Well, Eli is immune to pressure.Lived with it all his life behind Peyton and Archie. Eli ended his rookie year on a very positive note throwing 3 td's in the game against Dallas. Just wait till this season. He knows now that he is the QB and can concentrate on the right things and does not have to worry about winning the starting spot like he did last year, which he almost did anyway.
The San Diego fiasco was a bunch of lies and deciet (brought out later)
that was created by the SD front office and that is the type of organization tha Schotty runs. The one thing that people seem to forget is that WE all have the right to choose where we want to work aka Free agency. Eli exercised his right and all is good.

They've got Stephen Davis and DeShaun Foster at RB, a great 1-2 tandem any team without a super-stud back would love to have, not to mention Nick "I'm gaining 4 yards whether you like it or not" Goings. Steve Smith is back and Kerry Colbert was a solid rookie. All they really need is maybe another WR (cuz other than SS and KC, they have NADA), some depth along OL and for all their guys to STAY HEALTHY. If Carolina didn't have so many injuries last year, who knows what they could have done....
Mushin Muhammed wouldn't have had half the year he had either though...the Bears are going to wish they never signed that guy. His "comeback year" last year was a product of the Panthers having no other options to go to, that's it.

That's what I was thinking. If anything, they'd draft a big receiver like Mike Williams, but he's not gonna go that far.
Word on the street is that Campbell might go to Green Bay as Favre's successor. That's tough to live up to.
I'd like to see the hummer and the cadillac cruise the strip of Miami beach and the Skyway Bridge (Tampa Bay). Carlos would be a good keystone for the secondary of the Chiefs.
You know, now that you mention it, Auburn will have 1/8th of the starting running backs next year with Stephen Davis, Rudi Johnson, Carnell Williams, and Ronnie Brown. If I were a running back out of high school, I think I would absolutely consider attending Auburn.

Foster can't stay healthy and it's debatable whether or not Stephen Davis will ever play again. Goings is awesome but we need a good third down back.

As for my falcons, I have no idea who they should take. They need o-line help, but unless a big name falls to them, they aren't gonna take one. They could use a good safety, but they got a few in FA, so I doubt they'll spend a first-rounder on him. I wouldn't be suprised if they take Roddy White out of UAB to replace Peerlice Price's sorry ***.

Stephen Davis is a f***** soldier as Kellen Winslow would say. He'll be back, although he is getting old.

If I was an NFL team, I'd think about taking Adrian McPherson if I needed a QB for the future, that guy has got some skillz. He's had problems in the past, but I think he's past them. Plus he's out of my hometown.

He's got the same hip problems that ended Bo Jackson's career. I think he's done. He also has serious knee injuries. I hope your right though because he's one of the best in the league when he can go. ;)
