OXFORD, Miss. -- Ole Miss Head Baseball Coach Mike Bianco announced six players will be suspended for this weekend's three-game Southeastern Conference series against the Auburn Tigers. The six players are senior infielder Justin Donovan, sophomore left-hander Taylor Fowler, junior left-hander Chris Hollomon, freshman outfielder Drew Robinson, senior right-hander Chris Thompson and sophomore left-hander Brae Wright.
"We have decided to suspend these six individuals for this weekend's series against Auburn due to violations of team rules," Bianco said. "We'll re-evaluate their status on Monday."
The Rebels are 25-4 on the season, and ranked No. 5 in this week's Collegiate Baseball Top 30. They will open their three-game conference series with No. 16 Auburn (22-9, 4-5 SEC) Friday evening at 6:30 p.m., at Oxford-University Stadium/Swayze Field. Game two of the series is set for Saturday at 4 p.m., and Sunday's series-finale is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
