I have yet to get an answer from anybody on how did the men's golf team not get a #1 seeding in their own regional yet they beat the #1 team in the SEC championship tourney and is ranked #1 in the nation.

Has anybody given an answer or heard anything?

Nope, and that makes absolutely no sense to me. If they're ranked #1, they should be the top seed, no matter what region they're in. Are you sure that's right? The Gator website says Bama is the #1 seed in the Central Regional.

They're the #1 seed overall but they should have gone to the East Regional instead in Chattanooga. They shouldn't have to go to Columbus Ohio. Heres who went to Chattanooga:

I never understand how they choose who plays in what region, whether it's the basketball tourney, golf, baseball, etc.. There never seems to be any rhyme or reason to it. I frequently find myself with this expression when I read the brackets of various NCAA tournaments.

CN, some friends and I have been talking about it and we've determined the #1 seeds were randomly choosen to regions. Given the fact that we won the SEC Champ and beat Georgia countless times this season, we still should of taken the Southern Region. I see it as no excuse, but we're just gonna have to play our best game of golf anyway.

I don't know Thompson personally, but I play golf with some guys who know him really well. His comments on the subject were basically along the lines of "I wouldn't doubt it if they just tossed a coin, the NCAA doesn't give us much respect".
