Alabama Leigh Tiffin is 23/26 on Field Goals...
...which is among the best of kickers in the country.

He not only moved himself into first place on Alabama's All-Time scoring list ahead of the likes of Doyle, Proctor, and Daddy Tiffin...but he did so in a game with high-stakes and lots of pressure.

People once made the argument that Tiffin was aight when the pressure wasn't on but when it came down to a close game he couldn't make the kicks. Well, folks, two weeks ago he goes 4-4 with a 49-yarder and a 50-yarder to account for all 12 of our pts versus the Vols, and tonight he goes 3-3 with a 40 + yarder to put the game out of reach for good.

It's time for Bama Nation to step up and give the kid some props. Started off his career at Alabama under very shaky terms but now I'm gonna hate seeing him leave. Having a reliable kicker is one of the best feelings in the world because you know you're gonna come away with pts even if you can't get the ball in the endzone.

So let's hear it for Leigh Tiffin...who, let's face it, has been highly criticized in his time at 'Bama...and let's also face this...the only time kickers get attention are when they choke. They don't get much attention when they are quietly putting together a terrific season like Leigh is doing.

RTR.

Well said.

Both he and PJ bought into the team conditioning this past off-season. They have both got into better shape and have bulked up a lot. And it has improved both of their games.

Agreed Tim. PJ has made some key punts this year as well, including today when he pooched a couple inside the ten yard line.

It's unfortunate that both are seniors. It's not often that you have a punter and a kicker who have basically started for four straight years together and have to leave at the same time. Alabama's special teams will look totally different in 2010, personnel-wise, especially when you consider that Javy will also be leaving.

I think the fact that we have senior leadership in the kicking game is one of the most overlooked benefits this Tide team has this season. Their experiences have paid off.

I remember when Tiffin was a freshmen and him missing some easy kicks, but he seems to have ice water in his veins now, major props to him, he has become an important player this year.

I think Daddy just told him to quit screwing around and stop tarnishing his legacy. Point seems to have made its way through.

I used to hate seeing Tiffin come on the field. The last 2 years he's been right on point. I feel bad for being such a harsh critic of him in the past. I'm proud he's had the fortitude to stick it out. He's earned his place among the great Tide players in my mind. I am going to hate to see him go.

I agree. My wife asked me tonight if he'll go pro and without hesitation I said, definitely.

Yeah he deserves a lot of respect and credit, he's been a weapon for us this season.
