So I drove down to Alex City tonight to see the highest paid coach in Alabama (Coach John Grass) in action. Honestly, not impressed. We won but Oxford had no consistency, too many penalties and the defense left much to be desired. Although the defense looked stout at times, for the most part they let the Wildcat QB run all over the place. Oxford's Offense looked promising though, Judd Edwards is a savage QB who threw for 4 TD's and gained probably another 60-70 on the ground, most of the time using his shoulder to drive people out of his way. Offensive line was strong and gave alot of protection and we have a WR #3 (Ty Martin, I believe) who came up with some big time catches tonight including a couple of touchdowns. I know it's the first game of the year so I guess Coach Grass get's the benifit of the doubt but we definately need some work before our home opener with Pinson Valley next Friday.

BTW, if anybody goes to a Benjamin Russell game, keep an eye out for OLB #30 on D, he's a freakin' headhunter, alot of fun to watch.

Also, did anybody hear that Tana Patrick is hurt? Just heard it tonight at the game, some kind of knee injury.

Anybody gonna catch a good game this Friday? Im going to Oxford/Pinson Valley. We have Gadsden @ Gadsden coming up soon. Im looking forward to this one though, cant wait to see Kendall Kelly and Dre Kirkpatrick in action. They will be playing close to aza a couple of times too (Friday at Huffman) and they come to Fort Payne if Tim wants to check em out.

From what I hear from those who traveled to see Prattville, the offense looked questionable but the defense is still solid. Might be hard to make it a three peat for the Lions but we'll see what happens.

Not necessarily the wrong answer Tim, that's what the highest paid coach in Alabama did tonight. A 15 yrd punt and 20 seconds later we lost to Hewitt-Trussville 19 - 18. Maybe I'm expecting too much out of a high school coach here or maybe im just flat out wrong but I thought we should have wasted a few seconds and then just take the safety. That way we're still ahead and we can get off a good clean kick and try to pin em deep. Damnit, maybe im just pissed because we went from being undefeated coming off a blowout win over Huntsville and then lose to a team that got blown out something like 42 - 6 last week.


Also, I heard Shades Valley beat Gadsden.

You kick a FG out of bounds since in high school ball you change possession where the ball goes out of bounds and not where the kick was!

Glad to see Petrino was listening.
