The Gators surged in the Coaches poll this week, after the beating they gave in-state rival FSU. The top six teams in the USA TODAY coaches' poll remained the same this week, but No. 1 Florida picked up six more first-place votes to total 53 in all.

No. 2 Texas, which had four first-place votes last week, and third-ranked Alabama, which was placed No. 1 on eight ballots last week, each received three first-place votes in that latest tally.

The top three teams are followed by TCU, Cincinnati and Boise State.

Congrats to USC for knocking Clemson right out of the rankings. Man, that's embarrassing; one of the ACC teams playing in the ACCCG isn't even ranked.
