Given High Fives: 137 Rep Power: 712 | I think most reasonable MSU fans expect (hope) that we finish 5th. Auburn is a game that we can win. We can start out 3-0. We can beat Vanderbilt on the road. We can beat Kentucky, considering we beat them on the road in 2007 and lost by a point last year when our less than stellar kicker missed a PAT and a 27-yard field goal.
If we can beat JSU, Auburn, Vanderbilt, Kentucky, MTSU, and just ONE of the other seven, we're good to go. If the team turns out scrappier than expected, then LSU, Georgia Tech, Alabama, Ole Miss, and Houston being in Starkville may help us break the bowl barrier. At this point, there's no telling though. I have to see the offense at work. We're going to be starting a true freshman at QB, and we'll have true freshmen at WR. If Dan Mullen takes us to a bowl, I think he should be SEC COTY.
Honestly, the West is between Alabama and Ole Miss. I think LSU has really fallen off. They've got the talent to be the contender, but Crazy Les's antics are wearing thin. Look for the Alabama/Ole Miss winner to be SECW Champ, assuming they don't overlook AU, Arkansas, and MSU. More Cowbell! |
