I don't think there's anything wrong w/following and keeping up w/someone that young when they have a connection to your program. Offering them is totally different. There's also absolutely no way in hell that you can look at a 13 year old and tell if he's gonna be able to handle SEC football in a few years. Basketball, you can tell skills-wise how they are progressing a little bit easier, but again, size/height play into that as well.
There's really no good that can come of these early offers. I'm infinitely relieved that Gillispie's gone so we don't have to worry about those commitments he was securing. What a damn whack job he was. |
