Given High Fives: 0 Rep Power: 21 | well actually licoln did almost the same thing during the war between the states/civil war- he passed a law where one could be arrested and held in jail for "suspicion" of being a spy and the government-aka army- could use anything of citizens they needed with out permission. this is not a new thing to happen in time of war. and not just the president passed this. 2/3 of the senators elected by the people had to approve it. and it is only good while we are at war. its not like the government is going to go to your house and just arrest you for no reason, they are just trying to speed up the process of capturing terrorist by not needing such things as search warrents. |
