What the SEC needs to do

31 August 2014 - 05:36 AM

We looked decent this weekend, but so did the PAC 12.

I do believe that the playoffs will go to eight games soon, and if we continue to have just 8 conference games we will be at a disadvantage to the PAC  & B1G because of strength of schedule. With these selection committees anyway...

The ACC also has 8 games - we just need to make every team have a "perm" ACC rival and then cut a deal to rotate the other P 5 conferences with 2 games on everyone's schedule. THEN, everyone can schedule ONE cupcake game a year.

I still want to Posted Imagecan the divisions and rotate teams faster in league play.

Where are all the gamecocks at?

29 August 2014 - 04:31 PM

just wondering...

Ole Miss wins with an impressive score and S Carolina gets a wake up call

29 August 2014 - 05:32 AM

And the Texas Aggies looked real damn impressive. Just like the Gamecocks did in 2012, the year they pushed OUR Posted Image in. And we wound up being 5 yards from the MNC...

So I would say that all is not necessarily lost for the guys in Columbia South. It DID look bad, but our game at their place still concerns me. Because the gamecocks will be playing for their entire season and Spurrier has a hard on for us more so than any other team.

BUT, if we push Cocky's Posted Image in; feel free to push the panic button guys...

aTm did look big and strong. And well coached. Other West coaches for damn sure paid attention.

The Rebels are fine. Bo had a shaky start, but lots of teams start slow. It may not have been a dominating game; but the Rebels stepped up and put it away with an exclamation point. At the end of the year, people look back at that final score more than they remember the flow of the game.

THIS is what a schedule looked like back in the day when schools had the balls to play somebody...
