NCAA '14 Rankings

11 June 2013 - 05:59 PM

Johnny Manziel isn’t the top rated overall player on EA Sports’ NCAA 2014. His slippery, electrifying self wasn’t enough to persuade whoever rates players at EA Sports for the year’s new game. He has a little more coaxing to do.

Jadeveon Clowney is the only 99 overall in the game.

The top 15 players, as measured by player ratings, were released earlier today, and the SEC had three players in the top five and six in the top 10.

Let’s have a look:
1. Jadeveon Clowney, South Carolina, 99 OVR
2. Johnny Manziel, Texas A&M, 97 OVR
3. De’Anthony Thomas, Oregon, 97 OVR
4. AJ McCarron, Alabama, 97 OVR
5. Marqise Lee, USC, 97 OVR
6. CJ Mosley, Alabama, 97 OVR
7. Braxton Miller, Ohio State, 96 OVR
8. Teddy Bridgewater, Louisville, 96 OVR
9. Jake Matthews, Texas A&M, 96 OVR
10. Aaron Murray, Georgia, 96 OVR
11. Taylor Lewan, Michigan, 96 OVR
12. Tahj Boyd, Clemson, 95 OVR
13. Sammy Watkins, Clemson, 95 OVR
14. Denicos Allen, Michigan State, 95 OVR
15. Ka’Deem Carey, Arizona, 94 OVR

Here are the SEC team rankings:
  • Alabama 99
  • LSU 93
  • Georgia 91
  • Texas A&M 91
  • Florida 90
  • Ole Miss 90
  • South Carolina 90
  • Arkansas 88
  • Auburn 88
  • Miss State 88
  • Missouri 88
  • Tennessee 86
  • Kentucky 84
  • Vanderbilt 83

First off, Not trying to homer here, but these rankings have always been a joke to me and this year has further put that thought in my head.

LSU ranked ahead of UGA, TAMU and UF is a no for me. And also Ole Miss ranking the same as UF and USC is a joke. Sure, they could surprise some people but I doubt they're anywhere close.

Braxton Miller ahead of Bridgewater and Murray? No way.

But the biggest thing, is that Vandy is ranked last. That's the big red flag that EA Sports needs to go ahead and fire the FSU homer that is the lead developer.

Scottie Wilbekin Suspended Again

10 June 2013 - 10:22 AM

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida announced Monday that starting point guard Scottie Wilbekin has been suspended indefinitely for a violation of team rules. It is his second suspension from the team in the past seven months.

In early November, Wilbekin served a three-game suspension for a violation of team rules. That suspension was announced just one day before the team took the court against Georgetown about the USS Bataan in the Navy Marine-Corps Classic.

His suspension was lifted by coach Billy Donovan a little more than a week later.

"He certainly paid the price missing three games, three big games to start his junior year," Donovan said at the time. "I think he missed an opportunity to play on the [USS Bataan], which is a great experience, and playing home opener against Alabama State and then playing the other night against Wisconsin."

Wilbekin averaged 9.1 points and 5.0 asissts as the team's starting point guard en route to a third straight Elite Eight berth in 2012-13.
He is expected to hold onto the starting point guard job going into next season, but his suspension could throw that into question. Florida will add Top 10 player Kasey Hill to the mix as a player who could potentially take minutes away from Wilbekin, particularly if he continues to have issues with suspensions.

Florida did not comment further on Wilbekin's latest suspension.

NBA Finals

06 June 2013 - 09:42 PM

I'll let it be known now, I am a Magic fan, and I absolutely hate the Heat. But I recognize they're a good team. With that being said I honestly think the Spurs will win it in 6 or 7. Wade is way off his game, and Bosh isn't helping his case of staying on the team putting up the numbers he's getting this post season. LBJ couldn't do it by himself in Cleveland, MJ couldn't do it by himself before Pippen, and Magic didn't win it by himself.

With all that being said can we discuss how clutch that Tony Parker shot was to seal the game?
