SEC: Quarterback Country?

21 February 2013 - 09:02 AM

I saw on my FB feed from Saturday Down South about the career numbers of the SEC QB's going into spring practice and I started to think to myself; Self, does the SEC actually have the best crop of QB's in the nation?  For a conference known for it's stable power offenses and stout defense there is usually one who is considered nationally elite.  Going into into 2013 I don't think there's any question that there are 3 elite (and more than likely Heisman candidates) in conference;  Manziel, McCarron, and Murray.  Then there are the guys with high expectations that should see a good bit of improvement this season:  Wallace, Driskell, Mettenberger, Shaw.

I started to compare the SEC to other conferences and I couldn't for the life of me come up with a better group from one conference.

I'm I just a homer? Or is there validity in this?
