In Topic: ATN's 2015 Season Wins Total

19 May 2015 - 07:31 PM

The UT Arky game is gonna be an overtime thriller.  Just like that six overtime game years ago
Tennessee is capable of winning 7 or 8 games. Our problem is we're gonna be young on both the defensive and offensive line
Arkansas has one of if not the biggest offensive lines in the nation.  I can see them winning 8 or nine games if not more

Tennessee has to beat Florida,Georgia and Missouri before they can even think of playing for an SEC Title (And i say that as a Tennessee fan).  2015 is going to be an interesting Season for the SEC

In Topic: Can someone explain the Ar-Kansas hype?

While that one is memorable, it isn't one that really stands out. The stumble and fumble stands out to me for both sides equally I would think considering you went on to win a NT and we kinda lost our way after that game. The most recent game only stands out in peoples mind because of Joe Adams.

I remember that game now that you mention it, but Ark has had two 7OT games so I kind of forget about the UT one.
If i remember correctly Arkansas was undefeated before that game.

Any Vol fan who doesn't bring up 6 OT win with Casey Clausen hitting Jason Witten to end it when talking about Arkansas isn't a real Vol fan.

*AHEM* I brought that up awhile ago.

heres a hint

we are going to wreck tenner
We'll see. I'm not aware of any hype other than Tennessee having a couple of good recruiting classes.  We haven't beat UF in ages same goes for Georgia and Alabama. Not to mention Missouri has beaten three straight years

Personally i think we will all know how good Tennessee is once they play Georgia,Oklahoma and UF.

In Topic: Rank the SECs defenses

This is pretty tough, could make arguments all across the board for teams to be moved up and down. Only one I'm really confident in is having Alabama #1. Auburn and A&M could finish higher based off having 2 of the best DCs in football on their staffs now, though I question how quickly they can make an impact THAT big. How much of Florida's defensive excellence was based on Muschamp's scheming and how much was based on their overall talent? Will the loss of Steckel effect Missouri much? Seems like I underrate them every year but they keep managing to shut me up. Losing Chavis will hurt LSU, but with all of that talent on their D I don't think I can predict that much of a fall off. Tennessee has some high quality starters at most positions, but what about MLB and #2 CB? Two positions that could hurt the defense in a pretty bad way if not addressed..

1. Alabama
2. Ole Miss
3. Tennessee
4. Arkansas
5. LSU
6. Florida
7. Mississippi State
8. Missouri
9. Georgia
10. Auburn
11. Texas A&M
12. Vanderbilt
13. Kentucky
14. South Carolina

Yeah, this is pretty much a crap shoot beyond #1, I think. I wouldn't argue if anyone switched anything around. The offenses were much easier to rank.
If we don't address the MLB and #2 CB position like you said it will come back to bite us in the ass. We have to address both positions asap !
