I've heard plenty of Rob Bell....from his Nooma videos and so on.....he is flat out a heretic. Yes he had some moments early on....but many heretics can come on good at first to fool many.
they said the same thing of Jim Jones

I think your summary is very true for the most part. It is far too often that the church and its followers are worried more about condemning outsiders for their actions than examining our own hearts and actions.  Which is why the best way to witness to someone is to show them unconditional love and show them true Christianity through your own actions rather than preaching at them and telling them they are going to hell.

With all of that said, it's not a cut and dry issue. It's still a Christians duty to go out in the world and try to win over new followers.  I grew up in a southern baptist church (attend a Methodist church now) and one issue I always had with our church was the tendency for unnecessary judgement being passed or gossip being spread.  But I write that off to being a southern cultural thing since it's so common-place in southern social circles to gossip.

To end though that doesn't mean that Christians should stop worrying about trying to make the world outside of the church a better place. Some people need love and attention to see the Light, some need to be told that the way they live is sinful and wrong. Different methods are effective for different people, but today's society is so sensitive that it doesn't surprise me that people don't want to be told anything unless it's unicorns faries and butterflies.
Hit it on the head. We're suppose to go outside the church and tell others of Christ BUT not judge ANYONE. The gossip stuff as at an epidemic level in the church. I just got through going through a two year battle with two couples causing such a storm (lying to look better) that we almost left but the way I looked at it, if we did.....the win and look like they were in the right. Needless to say, both couples have just left and showed their true colors before they did. Jesus don't like ugly. lolol

Stay out of their way and give them their space.  You can't win if they're in a bitchy mood.

While I love the fact that he speaks his mind and doesn't hold back, I am not sure how he would work for international relations as a POTUS.

That being said... His State of the Union addresses would be GLORIOUS!

"My fellow Americans, you see these people sitting in front of me, clapping like they actually like me. They are the reason your country is *bleeped* up. If they worried about their jobs as much as they worried about their estates, you would still live in the greatest country ever. If I could, I would tell most if not all of them 'You're FIRED'."

The difference is that in 2015 ISIS murders and tortures thousands of people every month, insists that their job is to help bring about Armageddon, is heavy in human trafficking and rape, and wants to wipe every non Muslim off the face of the Earth.

The KKK is just a bunch of stupid old rednecks who sit around talking about the good ole days when they could use the n word in public.
