So pumped!
I really really hope Muschamp is successful here, and it's looking like he's doing all the right things so far!

We've gotten off to a slow start compared to the other big programs but we've got quality guys to commit, and guys who seem like theyre really enthusiastic about playing for Florida. I dont think Muschamp needs the "if you visit we revoke the offer" rule because these guys seem sincere about playing for the Gators. Especially Grier, he's been recruiting a ton. Almost as much as the regular coaching staff. I think Grier could beat out Driskel for the starting job honestly.

I was stupid and deleted the alert, but apparently a former San Diego Padres pitcher is going to walk on to play QB this year. I dont remember the name but I guess the CFB App felt the need to alert Gator fans with the information.

Chris Wilkes is the guy. Signed with Ole Miss but decided to go Baseball instead. 23 years old, 6'4" 225 lbs.

He signed to play QB for Nutt at OM, but chose to try professional baseball instead, like Weinke and recent OSU QB Brandon Weeden.

He was a 3* QB in 2008, and is now 6'4" and 235 lbs. with a strong arm, as you might expect from a pitcher. Had offers from ASU, GT, Colorado, and Nebraska in 2008 as well.

In any event, he's available to us right now (should be on campus in May), is probably a little more mature after already playing professional sports, and doesn't count against our scholarships; so I'd say it's good to have him.

Makes our Backup situation a little more manageable. Im not really high on Mornhinweg or Staver but all they have to do is pass the time for Grier to enroll.

I'm excited about Grier; but I don't typically give true freshman QB's much chance of being successful right away in the SEC... steep learning curve there, as we're finding out with our current crop of backups, not to mention our starter.

Even Manziel was a RS freshman who'd been at TAMU since 2011.

But regardless, the addition of Wilkes can't do anything but improve our QB situation... helps with competition and gives us another option.

Oh I didnt expect him to start I just think when he gets here next year he'll be the backup unless the wikes guy shows he can play, then i think he'll be redshirted.

I hope he can pick up the offense and speed of the game that fast; that would be unusual but welcome.

Kids got a cannon, and he can run. I think he could be the #1 pick if he develops right.

Worth noting that because he's already played professional baseball, he will be a walk on and not count towards our scholarship limits.

I was just walking the enemy lines & taking notes. Seems fla is building quite a nice set of RB's. Some nice talent that will help take some pressure off driskel. I'm confident the east is on the rise.

We can only hope so. Im guessing since he's a Nick Saban guy he might be going for the revolving door of 1000 yard rushers like Alabama.
