So who was a bigger part of TAMU's success? Sumlin or Kingsbury?
I would have voted Sulmin before this happened.. but I won't lie and say this is exciting news before the cotton bowl.

Ill have to lean on the premise that Manziel and Sumlin made Kingsbury... that makes me feel better. (and could easily be true.. time will tell)

Kingsbury held 17 NCAA records while he was a QB at Tech. He knows the pass game( wide out shotgun) as good as anybody and he is a proven QB coach just look at the record holders he has coached. He will recruit well in Texas.
I think he will have a long career at Texas Tech and produce some great QB's,.and will give the BIG12 a run for it's money. He has always been around quality coaches and I am sure he will pick some good ones.
Sumlin will still be Hell on Wheels with his offense and I am sure he will find the right OC. for the fit at TAMU.
Good Luck Kliff

So with Sumlin calling the shots, we run Michael and Melena a little more? Ok, let them take the punishment instead of JFF.

If he can find a defensive coach.

Personally I think Kingsbury is a huge loss. I was against the hire originally but now I hate to see him go. I think Sumlin has called most of the offensive shots but I personally think Kingsbury was mostly responsible for the way Manziel progressed this year. Losing him sucks. I don't blame him for leaving, I'm sure that was his dream job. Hope we find a good one to replace him.

I can't blame Kingsbury for leaving. But he only has -->1<-- year of OC experience and in that lone year coached a Heisman winner.
I hope he succeeds over in Lubbock but as a boot 33 year old first time head coach coupled with the impatience and seemingly inept administration it's not looking good.

I have had discussions with other Aggies about Sumlin/Kingsbury and when they will leave. Before Tubberville went nuts slapping people, leaving recruits high and dry, and running off to CIncy, I figured we had Kingsbury for a few years till a smaller school showed interest. I definitely didn't see him going straight to being Head Coach at a school as big as TT.

We maybe able to get him back in a year or two for less...

Good luck to KK and hopefully he can put a good staff together in Lubbock.
His stint in Aggieland is appreciated.
