Auburn will be a proving ground for Malzahn.  If he proves to be good enough to beat Saban and win the SEC, then he can come home.

Great hire Auburn. His stock has been rising ever since he left Fayettevile at an exponential rate. He's young as hell and will get better and better.

Too bad our selfish boosters with ego issues can't see it and hire someone with an unlimited ceiling that would crawl over the Sahara to get here.

Gus has the distinct feeling as a "Plan B" hire.

This means we get to keep Jeremy Johnson.

He's 6'6", fast and has a cannon.

He also has a frame to put on 30 more lbs. So be prepared for MANY Cam comparisons.

Seems like the other Auburn fans don't seem to like this hire, but I for one am excited because Chizik didn't let Malzahn run the offense he wanted to the full potential and know we can really see what it's supposed to do. I'm excited and I believe he will prove to be a whole lot better than Chizik. So what we didn't get Smart? At least we will be able to score points again until this past season and hopefully keep most of our recruits.

hell, i gotta agree with you. sucks for me. I kinda like Were-eagle. Now mixing a badger with a hog sounds just plain nasty.

Serious question: why did AU need a "search committee" to end up with Malzahn?

That's some of the only good news through all of this. My guess is that he will be the starter next year. If Guz starts Frazier I will lose my mind.

We won't have to stack the box, our athletes are better. Read the first sentence, Auburn won't have over 175. Bet anything you want, it's not gonna happen. That's the one thing Bama can do without a doubt 100% mark it down, and have been for years.

If you're going to bet, it will be longer than signing day. This is a rivalry that lasts 365 days, you would have to at least keep it until next football season or this isn't even worth mentioning. Besides, Bama could be winning late in the game and the scrubs get the 200.
Either way, it won't be happening to Bama's defense.
